it just... the image looks all cracked and broken. Is it a bug or something? I would really like to see my character....
oh BTW - when I build my charcter - it seem like i cant change her eye colour - is it a bug also?
what can I do?

When you are ready to assist the gamers here, you will complete a proper problem report, after you eliminate the routine situations, such as inadequate hardware:

http://social.biowar...8/index/7280573

If you find that guide at all hard to follow, you may try an alternate:

http://social.biowar...8/index/2154638

That was written before Victor's old "Read this first" sticky was replaced.

Only the very oldest of graphics devices or those with less RAM than needed must use the "Small" texture that include nothing but brown eyes for the PC, and are unable to include the blood spatter effects.

Windows XP Minimum Specifications
OS: Windows XP with SP3
CPU: Intel Core 2 Single (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater
AMD 64 (or equivalent) running at 2.0Ghz or greater
RAM: 1 GB or more
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space
Video: ATI Radeon X850 256MB or greater (this is clearly wrong)
NVIDIA GeForce "6600 GT" 128MB or greater (and this one is more wrong)

(Note: IMO, the practical choices for the two video cards above should be the Radeon X800 Pro, and the Geforce 6800 GS, at least, for small textures - it will take a Radeon X1650 XT (or X1800 GTO, same thing, almost) for medium or better textures)

INTEL'S GARBAGE (Graphics Chip) IS NOT SUPPORTED, and there is an interesting possibility that male party characters are easier to choose than female when using substandard video solutions, such as Intel's.

^This.

And I'm particularly interested in seeing what kind of graphics processor you're using....

. . hmmm?  (Edited)

Right.  Probably some tinker toy video from Intel that isn't supported, but also potentially a very old and very weak bare minimum video card, such as the Geforce 6600 Vanilla PCIe with its tiny 128 MBs RAM, or a Radeon X700, with only half of the SM-3 pixel shader functionality . .

(although I might almost have had something when I originally wrote " or perhaps a many years out of date graphics driver." )

Then bump your original post, preferably with enough detail so someone can actually try to help you. See:
http://social.biowar...8/index/7280573

or... consult the Online Social Network forum at: http://social.biowar...ategory/6/index

Please don't hijack someone else's troubleshooting thread... not cool.

What happened?  Need to get a replacement PC?  Laptops with substandard video are a dead end.  Once the machine is welded shut, there no loner is any "inside" niche where a video card can go, and trying to open the monobloc will only destroy either the chassis or the motherboard, if not both.

There is a message thread named simply "Video Card Help" from last evening for anyone with a Desktop PC that has that "6150 se" chip in it rather than any real video card. You need to go shopping for one or the other, the actual video card, or the complete laptop that has a better video device than a mere onboard Chipset video chip.

And, if you want advice regarding any particular graphics card, your budget limit is needed.
