Wasn't Mass Effect 2 pushed back because of the competition that year too?

The question is...would this game have been delayed without the handheld's existance?
But I also agree more time is more time in the end...and that is positive!I
Possibly not, but if anything we should be thanking this handheld thing for possibly pushin ME3 back and ensuring it'll be even more polished! Gonna be a tough 9 months

Did it's existence "ruin" Mass Effect 2? Because they came out in the same time frame.

I love the way people on this forum whinge that ME3 was being developed too quickly, that it's being rushed, and that they're worried it'll be like DA2. Then bioware announce a delay, and people start blaming the boogeyman (EA), start saying it's to cash in, how could they... etc

Second, just because EA decides release dates doesnt meant that its automatically a bad thing. If EA really was this evil corporation they would have forced the game to come out this holiday regardless of a mobile game. From a profit standpoint there is no way that any mobile version of this game will come close to matching that of the main game. Why would EA purposely delay a major money maker to make room for a mobile gamethat would simply make a margin of the profits?

Besides, now I won't fail my January exams. I can't imagine that having ME3 would have had a positive effect on my revision.

hey man I love the idea of the delay to give more time to the dev team to polish it I just don't like to read
Were delaying this for you so that you have the greatest experience bla bla bla" and then it turns out it was halted due to a handheld...I always preffer the truth...

Well at least I don't have to choose between ME3 and Skyrim to play at the end of the year. I'd rather it be ME3 that gets all the extra polish so I'm happy about this. Bioware, make this game fantastic and takE all the time you need to make it sO. Also, now they won't have to ccompete for Game of the Year awards against each other. Nice decision Bioware, nice.
Skyrim and Deus Ex 3 will keep me busy for some time, so Bioware has loads of time to polish ME3

WELL LONGER TIME MEANS BETTER GAME!!!
No, not true. I've seen plenty of games with loooooong waits that were pure crap. I suspect this has much more to do with holiday releases than anything else.

I want the game to be as good as possible, but there really isn't that much in terms of entertainment that grabs my interest. A couple books here. A couple movies there. And the odd game release. This is a good thing in the long run, but it sucks for me personally.

(Not speaking for himself here, speaking for people that are gonna go in the ''Army'') What about those who have to go into boot camp? ive heard alot saying they are gonna do that by the end of this year/start of next year, they wont even get a chance to play it Q1 next year when it's released until next year is prolly over[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie] and that sucks and i actually feel for them!.

My first reaction was sadness, but reason & logic quickly pushed that aside as I realized it's a good thing.
So yay Bioware
