Well at least I don't have to choose between ME3 and Skyrim to play at the end of the year. I'd rather it be ME3 that gets all the extra polish so I'm happy about this. Bioware, make this game fantastic and takE all the time you need to make it sO. Also, now they won't have to ccompete for Game of the Year awards against each other. Nice decision Bioware, nice.

Skyrim and Deus Ex 3 will keep me busy for some time, so Bioware has loads of time to polish ME3

My thoughts exactly :)

The most common message from readers and users all around the world / internet is:

Take your time Bioware, we will gladly wait.

I can't help but agree with this humble statement. I don't know what circumstances led to this decision but I can't imagine anyone, let alone Mass Effect's development team, to just sit and do nothing during the additional period of time. So I am happy and cheering for Mass Effect 3 even more.

(For example, Eidos Montreal was willing to make changes in Deus Ex Human Revolution in order to cater to  fans' demands even during the debugging stage of the development cycle something like 4 monts before the official release of the game.)

Seriously, one dude gives you a weak "it's being delayed because of an I-phone port" excuse (how do you port a PC/360/PS3 game into I-phone without MAKING A WHOLE NEW GAME anyway?) and you buy it? And then start getting annoyed? Really, guys?

Proof, people have the right to be angry or annoyed.

It says "a mobile/handheld version of each game will be available during the same launch months as the retail versions". And both of them were originally planned for Q4 2011. So, if anything, the mobile version is being delayed because of the retail version.

How
exaclty does this 'prove' that the delay is based around a portable
version of the game? Oh wait, the forumites have once again leapt to
distant conclusions.

It says right in the article, read it.

Tell you what, how about you go read your own information before using this as "proof" and acting like an idiot?

Exactly. I can't help but think that they're going to rape ME in the same way they did with DA2.

I was plannig on preordering but I think I'll wait a bit now.

2012, 2013, 2014...Don't care. I shall wait. In this very spot. For as long as I am required to.

If someone could bring me food occasionally would help, kthx.

Really don't think that is Kaidan, armor is way to heavy for him, believe that may be Saunders.

On the release date, am saddened since the world suppose to go to hell on Dec 21, was hoping to have
a little rpg joy before then ... :)

It gonna end Dec 21 2012

Not this crap again. I will be so happy when it's Dec 22 and nothing happened just like I did back in 2000.

Now Kaidan's armor looks cooler than Shepards.

(replace buttercup with ME and Bison with EA)

p.s. Honestly can't Casey just punch his boss in the face and say "No"?

so they have three more months to polish it. great. I expect it will be more than 50 hours? but if they will add too much RPG stuff, it will be ruined too. I think the element of ME 2 RPG is enough. I want more deep story in the game with many main missions as many as possible. at the same time, I wish that I could enjoy little more flexible open world exploration (say non linear?). there have been already so many games come out (more games will be arrived later in this year). so whether the decision was accidentally happened or not, it is a good news to stay away from competition little bit.

This made you angry? They are going to be tweaking the gameplay to make it better if anything this is good news.

If it results in a better game, then by all means. The initial release was actually surprisingly early anyway.

Still just as hyped!

I don't like the sound of that.

Any time a developer tries to "appeal to a larger audience" things just go wrong and the series becomes a shadow of itself.

I don't see the problem. Bioware will give us a great game I know it.

I've been gaming since the orriginal Attari so no. And EA is far from the Devil of gaming companies. They aren't in charge of the develpoment of the game Bioware is and they didn't screw up ME 2 so I have no worries.

Good for us good for them. We get a better game and they dont have to compete with Skyrim.

Honestly I think they did this to make this the best game they can, Skyrim be damed.

I AM SO PLEASED THAT THE DEV TIME PUSHED BACK THE INITIAL GUESS RELEASE DATE IN FAVOUR FOR A BETTER GAME! I AM SO PLEASED THAT I AM HAPPILY STUCK IN CAPS LOCK MODE. I AM ALSO SLIGHTLY SAD FOR HAVING TO WAIT LONGER FOR THE GAME, BUT THE WAIT WILL BE WORTH IT AND I AM MORE PLEASED THAT THIS GAME WILL TAKE LONGER TO MAKE THAN I AM SAD ABOUT HAVING TO WAIT LONGER!

THE WAIT IS GOOD
THE DATE WILL BE DUE!
I WILL BE HAPPY
IF I PLAY IT TOO!"

Considering you're subjective view on ME2 (and that's your opinion) alot of people here would like  more stuff added to it rather than seeing it unchanged or even... i'm gonna say it...... dumbed down. I just hope that Casey sticks to his guns about the gameplay, but right now all I can picture is this John Riccitiello character growing horns, and flames erupting everywhere, as he said all that.
