I just saw a tweet that it's coming out in Q2 now. Someone please tell me I'm wrong.
Do you mean this one?

This one was the first one I have found at least.
I don't know, there is no new announcement on FB, biofeed (official twitter), or on official ME 2 page. Also, till Q2 and can probably be interpreted quite broadly, can't it?
Could be Speculation, since Biofeed or Casey havent said otherwise yet:)
But yeah i got that twit too yesteday.

I'm not sure whether to be upset or thrilled. It's great that they have the extra time to make things better because DA2 seemed a little short for my liking and I'd really prefer a longer game but... yes, there's a but. Don't we always want games now?
You know, the planet pic reminds me of Illium but I am most probably wrong.
Also, is it me or does Kaidan look like he has salt and pepper hair?
I see what you mean, but I think it's just be the picture's blue-ish light. Of course, it's been a few years and all the characters have been through a lot at this point, so I won't begrudge any of them some salted hair (not saying you are). I'm also really, really happy to see the Virmire survivor will be back. I missed them sorely in ME2.
Anyway, I don't usually get that excited for a game until the release date is only a couple of months away. End of 2011, beginning of 2012, it all seems pretty far away to me right now. Still, the date being pushed back for whatever reason means there will be more time to work all the little kinks out, which I whole-heartedly support.
That being said, I'm really happy Virmire survivor is back (.. and apparently Spectre status too?) I really missed Kaidan/Ashley in ME2 (in separate playings of course). It sucked that we got a metaphorical two second clip.
Well, we have SWTOR. That'll keep us busy for a while too if it is going to released this year. And whilst I'm a huge Bioware supporter, AC:Revelations is coming out too!

really?! How can anyone like this announcement? I wish 1 company would not make a release date and always break it. No company when it comes to games ever seems to be capable of keeping their word. The statement made no sense. Of course you want your game to be good... I guess that statement meant that ME3 wasnt doing great, so they needed time to fix it. The game was playable last dec. so why the delay unless something was majorly wrong? So I only have Uncharted 3 at the end of the year? Noted.

I'm actually happy that it's delayed. TAKE ALL THE TIME YOU NEED BW!! Make this game beyond epicness!

I wholeheartedly concur! I rather it be next year as to make it more awesome. Good decision as well so Mass Effect can separate themselves from the pack.

The cynic in me thinks that EA pushed this game back because they have little or no faith in the franchise (and/or Bioware and BW fans) and feel it would be crushed by other high-profile games coming out later this year.

It's his lame attempt to say ME 3 will be "consolized." Crysis 2 launched with a bug that caused it to say press start instead of enter and everyone went ape****.Vez04 wrote...

I think this is the best news thus far because it means Bioware is more concerned with the quality of the game rather than getting the game out for a certain launch window. Ultimately, people will remember the quality of the game moreso than the delays. Look back at Half Life 2. The game came out six years after the original after numerous delays, but in hindsight, it didn't matter that the game was delayed because the it was unbelievably good. You will forget the anticipation and agony that accompanies waiting for a desired product, but you will remember the dissapointment of a failed product.
This delay most likely does not mean anything in terms of Bioware's development of the game. If the main story arc was playable last year, they are probably adding sidequests, items, visual upgrades (which usually come at the very end of the development cycle), and most importantly, polishing the game up (so as not to have any of the major bugs that ME2 had). My only hope is that the Bioware team releases the game when THEY feel it is ready and are not pushed by EA to fill a launch window (which sounds like what is happening).

That was no bug, it was left in the game due to the devs overlooking it. That alone spoke loads of the effort the devs put into the game.
I don't think ME3 will be "consolized", that's the least of my concerns regarding the game. If you look upon Bioware's previous record of RPGs which were shared between a console platform and PC, you'll see that Bioware always put special effort in the PC version. In KotOR, Mass Effect(I know Demiurge did the porting but still), and Mass Effect 2 they all got PC specific and adapted user interfaces and menus. They all feel like well done PC games adapted for the PC platform. Furthermore one can see the actual effort put into the PC versions. The same can't be said for Crysis 2.

I thought that was a bug oh well. Anyway I still loved Crysis 2 but you are right ME 2 felt much more like a PC game than it did.elitecom wrote...
