I dont understand why people are acting like "finally the game is saved from being terrible due to its short devolpment period" Mass Effect 3 has been in devolpment for quite a while now, not just since ME2 was released.

I remember an interview with Casey Hudson just before ME2 came out where he said that they'd just started discussing ME3.

So no, actual development on ME3 started AFTER ME2 came out

This is good news. I think this is influenced by DA2. It doesn't pay off to cut corners and rush a game unless it's called call of duty.

1. The good docs of Bioware said otherwise.

3. Meetings go on for a long time during development. That's how game design works.

You have no clue how much I want to play ME3 and Im still really happy that they delayed it for polishing...

Excellent decision of Bioware.

After DA2 massive flop they just couldn't afford to slip up with ME3.

This renews my confidence in them. I'd rather wait than having the game early and buggy.

ME3 won't be ported, it will be made from scratch and will be a completely different game. Also, I doubt it will be made by Bioware.

Good news. It's the final game of the series and it deserves the time to get perfect.

Edit: Funny how everyone seems to be relieved by the delay ... it seems DA2 really shocked the Bioware fanbase

The Mass Effect development team rocks. Seriously, they do.

I hope it comes out in March 2012, that'd give it 2 full years of solo-development time. Soak up allll the time you need, Bioware. I've never been more happy to hear about a game delay.
