I really don't mind waiting for however long it takes for them to get it right. I love suspense anyway!

Also, sick screenshots! <3

Ah well. By then, I'll have waited a couple years - I can wait a few more months. Do your fanbase proud, Bioware. We know you can.

Re: Screenshots: Is that really Thessia? I quipped on the Facebook page that it was ORD on steroids.

I wish the SWTOR community would be this understanding! :D

I think people get impatient with SWTOR because it's been in development for 4+ years, and a lot of them have been waiting even longer than that for a new Kotor game. I'm willing to wait for it, but I can understand some people's frustration.

For some fans sure, but sadly I fear a large amount of the TOR community is pretty much just whining about there being no release date because they are impatient in general. I wouldn't be surprised if a large amount of them have only been following the game actively for a year or two anyway. Thus is the joy of MMOs.

Personally I've been waiting for the next KotOR game since I finished TSL for the first time, hell KotOR got me into BioWare games! But I'm still happy to wait as long as it takes for TOR. Not only will it decide the future of the KotOR franchise, but it could have a massive impact on BioWare's future, and the future of RPGs and MMOs in general. They aren't -allowed- to rush it or release it overly buggy!

I feel great about this. It means ME3 will be an even better game.

I'm particularly happy to see the great new screenshot with two ME1 squaddies standing side by side with Shepard.  <3

Normally I would be disappointed fore a delayed but after DA2 being rushed and full with bugs and having to wait for patches then I don't mind MA3 being delayed. So BioWare take your time.

Hmm interesting.. I'm guessing this delay was due to the amount of RPG's releasing in 2011.

I'm new to the ME games. Loved ME2. Just finished it, and playing it again. Looking forward to ME3.

Have you all seen the post on the other forum? EA stated that they're catering to the shooter market and not the rpg market with ME3. We shall see and I'll buy it but this will be the last Bioware game I buy I think. I love Kaidan enough to buy ME3 but I think those who love rpgs are going to be disappointed.

According to EA head honcho John Riccitiell, BioWare is adjusting the Mass Effect IP to appeal to a larger audience.

"One
of the things that Ray Muzyuka and the team up in Edmonton have done is
essentially step-by-step adjust the gameplay mechanics and some of the
features that you'll see at E3 to put this in a genre equivalent to
shooter meets-RPG," he said, "and essentially address a much larger
market opportunity than Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 began to
approach.

"We're huge believers in the IP and are purposefully shifting it to address a larger market opportunity."

Again EA screws up a great franchise.  Catering to the masses means more shooter a lot less rpg.

Damn EA. I don't want a straight up shooter. How about concentrate on Battlefield 3 for that.

Other than that its a good thing to delay it. Give me more time to play BF3 and Gears 3.

Let's not get too worked up here guys.

BW has already confirmed ME3 will have more RPG features than ME2. Story isn't going to be affected, just game play.

The worst we'll get is that ME3 will be closer to ME2 than was originally planned but still have more RPG elements.

Let's not get worked up.

TRANSLATED: We are trying to improve both the shooter and RPG elements so we can capture both audiences.

TRANSLATED: We moved the release date so we don't have the compete with Skyrim.

Thank you Cheez. I'm glad I'm not the only one keeping a level head.

Remember how everyone was whining that ME2 would be turned into a brainless shooter?

Yeah, that really panned out.

With all the complaints about how "rushed" DA2 is, I suppose this comes as a relief to many (not me, I'm greedy and I want to play it NOW!).

Also, that second screenshot.. it reminds me a LOT of the Opera House in Sydney but in blue. Hm, I wonder what it is.

Kotor was my first Bioware game as well, and I'm a huge Star Wars fan, but I'm still not entirely sold on the MMO concept. I definitely plan to give it a chance, but I'm much more excited about Mass Effect 3 right now. I'm honestly hoping this will be the best game I have ever played. Bioware, take your time and make it awesome!

ME2 is not a brainless shooter but it is close to being one (just play the game by skipping the cutscenes and you'll see how derivative it becomes). It is a good game, but it could've been better. As long as Bioware takes the best elements from both ME1 and ME2, part 3 has the potential of becoming the best in the whole series... I just hope JR was giving the quote for the investors. Broading the spectrum of the target audience might result in a project with a loose focus, diluting the core concepts that began the franchise in the first place (i.e. DA2). So ...please, please... no multiplayer!

I've been playing through ME1&2 back to back with an all new Shep, and as I was playing it I kept thinking, "Dang, I can't wait for ME3. Based on what I've seen I get the feeling it's going to be everything I loved about the first two combined." Then they tell me I have to hurry up and wait some more. Well... Fine! I will wait for the epic conclusion of my favorite franchise ever in the hopes that they inject some extra epic into it! (The adjective, not more Gears gameplay.) I guess I'll pick up Skyrim on release day after all.
