So the question is: which way is it going to be for ME3?

Now I hope that wider audience thing was a defensive way of saying we don't want to compete with Skyrim and other IPs in 2011, and it doesn't mean they're bringing Call of Duty to the Mass Effect universe.

So about the me3 release date, don't be grumpy, we are just adding more awesomeYou like awesome, right?
:sick:The last time someone at EA/Bioware used the word "awesome" it lead to that piece of filth Dragon Age 2 disaster. So, what she is saying is that they are going to ruin Mass Effect 2 as well. Great, no pre-order from me. I WILL skip this game if they decide to make the combat "AWESOME".

It could be great if Mass Effect 3 will work after windows re-instal and save files will be inside game derectory. Just more conveniently. Also i got a problem in Mass Effect 1 on Steam, when it needs CD in drive when u dont have it. And much thanks for 50% discount!

uhhh and wasn't the combat en ME2 already 'awesome' compared to in ME1?? (I liked ME1 better btw, though I still love ME2). it's not like they can make the combat even more 'streamlined' unless the suddenly make ME3 an fps.
Sure, they can make plenty improvements to the combat, and that is what they are doing. a.k.a. moving from cover to cover seamlessly, special melee attack for each class, any class can use any weapon, etc etc.
btw the ME team and the DA team are two separate teams. there is no reason to believe that whatever may have happened to the DA series will also happen to Mass Effect, especially with all the awards that ME2 got. they are going to BUILD up from ME2, and make ME3 even better, they're not going to just do something completely different form what already worked so well.
there's no where to go but up.
Cheers

I believe that you should post that on a steam forum, or send them an e-mail to their customer support. they'll be able to address your problem since it seems steam-related.

If its just to make it a better game with a stronger story and better graphics and not to use the same tile set for every encounter (yes, I'm looking at you Dragon Age 2) then I'm all for it. I have thought that the ME franchise has been made more and more action based though - I personally hope that they don't turn ME3 into a FPS.
If its just to add multiplayer then I'm gutted - there are already loads and loads of MP games out there - to divert resources away from the from the rest of the project to add yet another 'deathmatch' mode seems wrong to me. Due to the time left its more than possible that features that were to be included would be dropped to make time for the multiplayer options.
Looking at the EA statement I'm 85% sure its the latter. I do know that no matter what anybody says it will go ahead regardless - so in the end all you can do is vote with your wallet.
Funny thing is that I really enjoy multiplayer games - having played MW2 and Black Ops to death, however sometimes its nice just to play the odd SP game with a strong story on your own without all the terrible attitude that some players seem to have in MP games.
I guess we'll see.

From my point of view, the jump from ME1 to ME2 was not a dumbing down of the game. Quite the opposite. Like a lot of stat and inventory management heavy games ME1 could be twinked through to pretty much abolish the need for tactics or skill.
So yeah, this is all highly amusing to me.

Honestly at this point I was in total support of the delay thinking it was due to the reaction to DA2 (pretty mixed from what i saw) and Arrival( felt very empty to me). YAY they are taking more time to tweak the game and make it better! Then what a day later stuff pops up that bioware guys are trying fo a larger audience more call of duty like and cutting out meanlingless role-playing elements! Mskes it sound like your doing a 180 on what made the game great and abandoning your core audience.
There is too much specualtion on what all this means. You guys seriously need to show more than a trailer at E3, we need some combat play through, show us some rpg elements. Honestly I have faith that bioware will not let ME3 become a total piece of **** game cause the wanted to appease the money hungry publishers. I'm gonna keep that optimism until proven otherwise. But I won't lie when I saw this I said this is the last game I pre-order from bioware. After the DA2 bugs bull**** the fall of Me3 would be too much.

Somebody's definitely scraping the mirror to closely.
Unless of course, the 'steal components from one area/paste to another', gets "auto-enabled" throughout the entirety of the Game.

I was put off enough with DA2 not standing up to multiple playthroughs, I can only imagine Call of Dead Space Effect 3 being more of the same.

Just play Skyrim and stop littering the Bioware threads. We get it, you don't like Bioware anymore. Move along. No one cares.
For the rest of us, who actually did like ME2, this announcement doesn't really mean anything other than a much more clear release launch window. ME2 launching after Christmas probably helped out it's sales a ton, so this is a no-brainer. Why go up against the other juggernauts from November when you can push it back a couple of months and destroy sales after the New Year?

I'll just assume the postponed release date means we'll get a more polished game. How this is a bad thing I don't know.

Cancelling your preorder because of a completely different game not doing as well as you thought is silly and rather dumb. I was convinced about ME3 as soon as I saw the scans/pics they used in Game Informer.
