2012 is going to be such a monumental year for the whole Mass Effect franchise. We are now going to get both Mass Effect 3 and the ME movie all in one year. I am so pumped about this its unbelievable. I know Bioware will deliver now that they are spending more time on the final game in the triology. Thank you Bioware! we care about this game so much.

I don't think production even started on the ME movie, has it?

I haven't seen any news on the movie since they announced it, other than that totally seperate anime thingy.

not looking forward to the movie i love mass effect from the books and games to the graphic novels i think the movie will be rushed and a big let down id rather have a spin off game that puts us into the first contact war so we can meet sarens brother and the illusive man as jack harper

From what I've gathered there's going to be an anime film (partly) produced by FUNimation and overseen/directed/whatevered by Casey Hudson. I also vaguely recall it's going to be written by ME's writer(s). A real-life movie isn't going to happen anytime soon. I think this project definitly has potential.

And you know, while I am somewhat  about the date being pushed back, I am way more reassured by it.  Take your time guys, make it right, make it awesome. After all, it's not every day we get to wrap up an amazing trilogy.

damn... was hoping for a real director being mentioned. Movies can be great.. but they need a very special and extremely rare type of actors and directors. Videogames haven't takent hat extra step needed to be made into good movies.

Unless a director that is well known for its movies comes forth then i'd say not to do a movie... if its an anime go for it. It wont be as big as an impact whether good or bad as movie.

I just really hope some suit at EA doesn't have you trying to turn this into "Medal of Honor" in space as rumor has it.  There has already been talk that all of the much publized RPG enhancement was going to be removed to make the game more "friendly".

Not to be annoying and maybe I have myself to blame by following these boards, but if that is true, couldn't you have written MASSIVE SPOILER in your post? Or is this information something we supposedly learn at the beginning of the game? Or am I a complete thickheaded idiot for believing this post? BTW, TIM being indoctrinated is imo a terrible plot twist, wether it's true or not. I'd even rather have TIM being a friggin Reaper/human hybride then another Saren.

Yes, it is indeed confirmed in the latest issue of PC Gamer, which features an exclusive preview. I agree completely that it is a disapointing and a cop-out "twist" having TIM coninuing Sarens work. I had hoped for Shepard fighting a two-fronts war where everyone (being Shepard & Co, TIM nad the Reapers) fighting one another. It also says there will be no new romanceable charachters, but rather, romance will continue with the charachters you wooed in previous installments. The article hints that the "negative" impact on cheating on your loved on from ME1 (which 70 % of all players did) will result in them not allying themselves with you for the final showdown. If you had Legion reprogram the rogue geth, they will rejoin the geth and if you spared the Rachni queen, the article hints that she will aid you. The article also mentioned that we will meet new Reaper adversaries akin to the husks, but merged with other speices (remember, the husks were transformed humans).

I' ve got news from Official Xbox Magazine:
-Shepard will not only crouching but also jumping
-if we will get round with one of the race we can lose then in the last battle but only if we not be all right with them (like in ME2 with squad members)
-all weapons will have 3 slots to upgrade it
-armor will have more effect on us and whole play (one of the armor part will be something like this:http://img541.imageshack.us/img541/7813/garj.jpg)
-on E3 Bioware will shows us new squad members, lots of screenshot and one huge gameplay or lots of them but shorter
This is all what I know. They should also shows us new trailer.

Also we could be able to fire like in Gears of War from our protection (blind shot) and one thing that is not very importat if we don't like the color of equipment we can change it (armor and weapon).

This is exciting! ...Although I will undoubtedly still be somewhere deep in Skyrim by that time. ...I can see the end of my social life now. Also Lord_Kaza's pictures are very interesting- especially the 2nd-to-last one! Lastly, the Cerberus soldiers being so armored-up brings an unwelcome resemblance to Gears of War- I keep picturing the friggin Locust. I'm not too keen on that, but hopefully it's just the armor... ME is not = to Gears! (I'm looking at you too, dzieciol1992!)

I too like the delay because a whole load of games are being released around the holiday season. I'm already saving up to get the games I want.
