I'm okay with the release date. It will make for a more shiny, polished product I'm sure.

Also, I'm sure Bioware didn't want ME3 to be released with any other major titles like Uncharted 3 and Skyrim due out this Holiday season. Makes good business sense. And then ME3 won't have to compete with them for GOTY 2012!

No it can't be Liara because she is so ugly on this picture. Look at this picture and say which Liara looks is better:

Sure it can.  She's looked like that before:

I rather see that ME3 gets delayed a bit so you guys really can make sure that it exceeds both the first and the second part of the ME-series. I'm looking forward to ME3 at E3!

Wouldn't it be awkward if in 2012 the Reapers actually do invade and the mass effect game itself was a 'beacon' and Bioware are actually protheans and I'm rambling like an idiot, it's a defense mechanism...

OH MY GOD, IT'S A CONSPIRACY! :alien:

Well not really. Kinda disappointed about the 2012 release now, but hell if it means making ME3 even more awesome than it's already gonna be, then by all means push it back a few months. Take your time to make your masterpiece, Bioware.

About the second picture I think it could be Earth, look at the normal buildings they looks like they will built by human architect. I think it is New York or another big city that was attacked.

Good idea for the game to be released in 2012. Let BioWare take their time for this game to make it better than ME2 (I hope). PS: The world won't end in 2012, my mum assured me that back in '09. If it does end I won't be able to play inSANE which comes out in 2013, and that does sound interesting. Now as long as Half Life 2 Episode Three dosn't come out in 2012, ME3 - GOTY 2012. Thanks BioWare!

On the one hand, I'm very glad the game gets all the time it needs, so that it becomes a worthy final for the Mass Effect-Trilogy.

On the other hand I'm sad that now I have to wait till 2012, so that I can finally finish these damned Reapers off...

Actually glad to hear this news. Give the devs more time to polish ME3. In the mean time, Skyrim will keep me busy.

I feel like crying!

Well, not really, but it's not happy news. 2012 instead of November...

I hope it will be well-polished.

Looks like EA learned there lesson with DA2 and won't rush Bioware again, this is good news.

I'm not doing a party because of this or so, but I understand your reasons and admire your will of doing ME3 as better as possible, instead of doing everything quickier just to get our moneys, like many other software houses would have done. Take your time and do your best as always, we'll be there :)

I'm surprised to see I'm not the only one voicing this sentiment:

THANK YOU for delaying Mass Effect 3. I want this series to go out with a bang, and if it takes a few more months, or a few more years, so be it. Creativity cannot be rushed, nor should it. Take your time, my money is already yours, so just be sure to make something we can all be proud of.

Bring on more posts like this. It’s some great news and great screenshots. Thanks for posting. Please keep us posted because I and many others will need to book days off, or come up with some mysterious illness that lasts 30+ hours (just on release day for some reason). Roll on 2012.

Nice screenshots by the way. I hope Liara and Kaidan will be the ''poster boys'' this time, rather than Garrus and stupid Ashley. They had their time in the sun.

That's a nice conveniently lightened small symbol on Kaidan's chest. Old news, yeah, but I still wonder why they need to display it on their armors.

Delayed game - I my brain knows it's good, but my heart does not accept it. Dealin'.

Knew it, been pretty much expecting this from the start. Something similar happened with ME2.

The initial crushing disappointment was quickly dampened by the realisation of how many time consuming and awesome looking games are due out between now and then. Including Skyrim which should fill the gap quite nicely actually.

Edit : I'll also echo the sentiment that this is an incredibly WELCOME development, hopefully even to those who are crushed by the delay. After all is said and done there an only ever be one ending to this trilogy and if it takes a few more months to give us the perfect conclusion to our Shepard's story then I will support that decision every step of the way.

Also sorta casts doubt on those folks saying EA are forcing BioWare to rush everything? Hopefully DA2's release schedule will be a one off mistake.

I guarantee that this postponement is because they don't want to overlap release dates with SW:TOR.

SWTOR probably got pushed back another few months (for the 50th time) and now its projected release is probably "Holidays 2011". Because of this, EA/BioWare probably told Casey's team to take a few extra months and really polish up both making the game better and avoiding conflict with their other AAA game. The last thing BioWare would want is to release both at the same time and hurt either's sales numbers.

But knowing SWTOR, it will probably be delayed again anyway so all-in-all its a futile effort.
