Thank god. The 2011 date had always left me concerned they would not have the time. This also effectively removes them from competing with Skyrim, which probably factored into their decision.

If this delay is just to shoehorn in a mulitplayer. Well, my sig speaks for itself.

I'm pretty sure they've announced no multiplayer, although the delay could be to do with the possible handheld games.

Gotta have time to strip out all those boring talky sequences and filling up the power bars on the character page. Also reviewing the "no multiplayer" decision. We're approaching a whole new market here, people. :police:

I believe that the delay of the game is due to BioWare's attempt on making the last title of a good Trilogy better.

not a bad thing, this way it will be perfect and we all have time to play skyrim and uncharted and battlefield and also it means it will be an automatic GOTY in 2012

Wonder if the delay has a little bit to do with the fact that it would be hard to compete with Skyrum and Witcher 2 for best RPG not to mention GOTY with the flood of releases this year. Nevertheless I'd rather have a good game than a rushed game...hope the delay pays off...the bugs in DA2 were annoying.

I'm not surprised about this. Releasing in 2011 is just too soon. The only thing I dislike that I have to wait more, but I prefer doing that if it means that I get a better game.

I'm hoping that with the delay they will bring back the female rigging for FemShep that they threw out in ME2. Also bring back customized female armor for FemShep too. In ME2 all the free armors or the DLC armor packs were meant for male Shepard and didn't look good on Female Shepard. Then there is the rigging problem. They used the Male Rigging on Female Shepard causing clipping problems, improper sitting problems and so on and so forth. It was a real downer. So I'm hoping for major improvements over ME2 and bringing back some of the stuff that made ME1 so awesome.

It's good news in my books ( especially if they are going to polish the combat more ).

I think however that despite what they have said they just don't want to fight against Syrim and the Witcher 2 this year.

I agree that this new news doesn't sound very promising.  I thought Bioware said that they were going to try and stray away from ME2 and heavy action and go back to a more heavy RPG format?  They must have changed their minds again.  They better not ruin ME3 so that it's hardly a RPG and just make it a shooter!!

Skyrim is not on the same level as Mass Effect is . I would rather play ME 3 than a poor man's copy of Dragon Age Origins

Regardless of that it still is a contender ( a very strong one I guess ) for RPG and Game of the Year Awards.

I personally don't like those types of games, but quite a few people do.

Though I think the Witcher 2 is far more likely to win...it's a game that spent four years in development time, and is primarly story driven ( just like Bioware and Obsidian games ).

The guys at Bioware problably want to see how much of an impact the Witcher 2 will have....if it's really going to deliver on it's story driven by player choices ( rather then the illusion of choce we have in Bioware games ) then it's really going to ring some bells for Bioware.

Aw, that's too bad, I had started to hope for it being released in november. But if this will make the game better I can wait, no problem.

The "adjust for a larger market" worries me a bit though...

Aside from the fact that they are totally different games and the only comparison you can actually use is: They both got a protagonist with attribute stats and a leveling system.

I think this comment prob takes the cake of the silly comments you've made so far, extreme...

It's a good thing, but if that's the case then i hope they'll give us some more DLC-sidequests for ME2.

I think it really is a good thing... After playing DA2, which, by my opinion, was not bad at all (Just extremely different than its predecessor.. And buggy..that too) I praise their decision of trying not to screw up this time.

Besides, I was already wondering where I would get the money for BF3, Skyrim AND ME3. So now I wont end up being  so poor this year lol.

Errrrrrrr Skyrim is different from ME 3 in fundamentally every way. It's also going to be better than DA2, promises.
