Unless it is released December of 2012, this doesn't make any sense.
I confess, that I don't know much about that theory, would it have to come out December to fit with it?
I'm not one of those people who enjoys convincing themselves to think that the world's going to end. The Mayan calendar said that the world ended some hundreds of years back too.I'm just saying, 2012+end of the world, some connection there?
Delaying it is a good decision for many reasons. After all, DA2 had big problems, one of which was a MAJOR FEATURE (auto attack) being left out, and affecting it's review scores, better that ME3 have more time in the oven! That, and there are two, maybe three (Deus Ex this year?) big RPGs coming out, it's better for both sales and fans, that they don't all come out at once.It worked well with ME2, after all.

December 21, 2012 is suppsoed to be the date for all that believe in the theory.
You don't have to believe in it to understand what they're talking about, you don't even have to think it's sane.

I wasn't insinuating anything. (nice, using a picture of Turk, made me think of the Guy Love song! lol)
I'm sure that some people will make the connection, 2012, save the earth!

It keeps them from having to compete with Skyrim, at least. I'm grateful for that, because Skyrim will own my soul for a few months.
I was mad about the delay until I read this post. Damn, how did I forget? TES:5 will own my soul for a while too.
An open letter to the world:
Hey, world...if you do decide to end when ME3 is released (though I don't believe you will, you're just crying out for attention methinks), please give me enough time to complete a playthrough. I'm begging you, world!
Sincerly,

Yep. That theory goes: the world will end on December 21st, 2012 because the Mayan calendar (the Long Count) ends there, and they were pretty good with math and astronomy! Nevermind the fact that the Mayans would always just restart their calendar when it ended, because that's inconvienent!

which battlefield will no doubt sell in huge numbers because of aiming at the same audience of call of duty (i hate call of duty)
mass effect will likely not sell in nowhere near the same quantities as battlefield will because simply it does not have the same mass market appeal as battlefield or COD so their target audience is smaller.
Mass Effect also produces great levels of sales even in periods when its more quiet like they found when they released ME2 and DA2 in periods that traditional sell in great quantities.
As well considering ME2 had to have things introduced at later dates because of the game taking so long to make (like the car driving scenes in Liar Of The Shadow Broker and the Hammerhead) it is obvious that ME3 would need a similar time or even more considering they are trying to make it even more special.
So to me it is very logical to delay ME3 and no way are they trying to match it to doomsday theories which there has been more tons of dooms day theories which we should have died like 2000 times by now with all the dooms day theories floating around

I wasn't trying to be rude. Just stating that I don't believe in it, but I do find it fascinating.
Luckily we won't have to wait for December of 2012 to play ME3, I hope.

That doesn't matter, it's to maximize profit, period. EA wants to focus on its Battlefield 3 marketing campaign as well as Star Wars. They also want to avoid getting crushed under Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3, Call of Duty, and other games, and not to mention Skyrim.
But, if it helps people feel better, sure they want to "polish it up".

Wikipedia has some additional information. I'm note quite sure why we should, particularly, worry about Doomsday predictions based on the bible (rather than some other piece of religious writing) or the Mayan calender (Y2K38 is a more pressing issue since my computer is using Unix time and not Mayan time)Vez04 wrote...
