anders is a mage he has high attack power and a good half ton of spells depending how he is speced, if he has creation, entropy, and elemental, he would be tough competion. that and he has a fade spirit inside him who would defend anders whatever the cost. even if anders get's knocked out justice would probably revive him, and by the time that happened fenris would be beaten down.
anders is not immortal by any means but justice isn't exactly passive.

this is the way i see it fenris is a warrior, he has good endurance and high strength, as well as the tattoos which give him special abilites. i'm not sure what specs would help here.

The other deciding factor is the spell induction (time it takes to cast) I've seen fenris sprint to someone in a blink, if so and he uses the heart punch it's all over.. Tough call.
Side note: Is there any difference/benefit that Anders is a Grey Warden?

Grey Wardens recruit the Best of the Best, so he is no slouch spell caster, he is a powerhouse as well as a healer..

it is a tough call anders with entropy has a ton of snaring abilites, and others to weaken fenris, but that's only if he could get the attack off before being interupted.
panacea would only hinder him, in a one on one fight a mage cannot afford to waste time like that, which means vengance would also hurt him.
he would have to switch from healing, to debuffing, to damager, in mear seconds, and if all else fails use justice as a last resort.
fenris is an impressive fighter so the battle may be a draw, i have both in my party alot. anders is the main healer buffer and damager if need be. and fenris is main dps cause he is a beast on the battleground.
i don't like his additude but he is an awesome dps, and his banters with anders are hilarious.

Taking him and Anders in a certain Fade quest proved to me Fenris was capable of one-shotting mages before they could get a spell off.

Anders, for the same reason my mage outdueled the Arishok: in-combat health regeneration. With Panacea on, he can run away from Fenrish and regenerate while Fenris keeps all damage he takes.
fenris is alot more agile the the qunari, fenris fights with speed and skill while the qunari fights with brute force. against a quicker foe anders wouldn't have time to wait for his health to build up, his best bet would be to trap fenris in order to heal, and creation only has one snare ability. and you can't use entropy spells with pancea.
if glyth of paralisys [can't spell] was on cooldown, shifting into pancea would be foolish. if it came down to it he could cast sleep or horror on fen, and then shift into pancea and heal. but if i were him i wouln't risk it.

I thought I only recruited him into the Wardens because he was going to be carried away, not because of his talent.

Also, read his short story, he's pretty dangerous at close quarters too(Not ingame due to game balance).

Okay, this made me snort water out my nose! Too, too true.
*sigh* I soooo felt like "Brave" Sir Robin the whole fight. LOL

Bravely ran away, away

ROFLMAO!
"Anders was once a Warden,
'til they took his cat away.
He was half the man he used to be,
so he invited Justice in one day.
Some would say he benefited,
others may disagree.
All I know is he twice as annoying as he used to be.."

Agreed. I only recruited Anders in Awakening so I'd have a mage. Also, you could make all of your companions Wardens, so I don't think being the Best of the Best really applied in Anders' case.
IMHO, Fenris would win every time.

I like Anders more than Fenris but I suspect Fenris would have little trouble taking Anders down. However, I am not sure Fenris would be able to deal with Justice.

Forget scolding. Aveline would beat them both with a big sign that says "DON'T."
Best mental image ever, I should totally do a drawing of that.

Because the only thing Anders is good for in a group is sucking and dying.
