Obviously I'm not at liberty to discuss anything in detail about any upcoming story DLC but I'll say a few things that will hopefully sate your curiousity for now

First of all, it's awesome. Yup. Awesome.
Secondly, we're ensuring that it is of the utmost quality when it is finally released and as such have really taken our time to incorporate all the feedback we've been receiving from the forums and make changes/additions accordingly.
Third, it's awesome. Did I mention that? B)

We will have more information on it as gets closer to release but don't expect anything too soon; the patch and game quality are top priority.

This is about the third time I've heard a BioWare dev say that the DLC includes feedback from the forum. Storywise, there's a great deal of feedback, but not everything could be handled in a DLC.

However, many agree that Act 3, the conflict between Meredith and Orsino, and the lyrium idol didn't get enough build up for the player so how about...

  • Story DLC exploring the story behind the idol and the primeval thaig
  • Story DLC expanding on Orsino or Meredith and the situation at the Kirkwall Circle

What do you think might be coming up?

They are going to sell us some awful 10 minute DLC quest with additional weapons in it.

hehe, gotta love Bioware's optimism. I just hope it's story wise, but I do not see how 3-4 hours content will fix what to me is a flawed game. I will be happy if they release a DLC pack (for free) with unique environments, that would really patch up a huge hole. I liked DA2 but that was disgraceful.

I want the story to fill in the gap between the end of DA2 and the time Cassandra interrogates Varric.

This could also lead to expanding upon those points you mentioned (the idol and the Orsino/Meredith situation).

I just wonder if this will be a DLC or expansion pack?

Well they won't be selling that to you most likley but the rest of us uneducated heathens perhaps.

As for the DLC?  Perhaps something Cassandra related as a lot of people seem to want her.  Something Sandal related?  They have a lot of options I guess, more quests in the exisiting game or something outside of it all together.

Didn't they say the same sorts of things about Origins DLC? And how much of that turned out to truly be "Yup. Awesome."?

Whatever it is, I hope it has another Varric solo mission. I'll buy it regardless (eventually), but I'm not convinced that it's going to be anything more than the little they've proven able to deliver in the past.

DLC item pack #100 will finally be released after 4 months after DA2's release, then Dragon Age will be cancelled. Awesome.

Bioware saying "it's awesome" and referring to DA2 is kinda meaningless...

I dont have high hopes of what they can offer. They will give us few hours with too high price and the quality wont blow our minds away and I bet it will be on par with DA2, same old dungeons, and if we are in luck and gods are smiling upon us, new textures on it, and still same old ninja enemies appearing out of thin air with "new" armors that are just recolored versions of the already excisting ones.

But if Bioware does actualy read these forums and have takent he feedback they will use all their skills and try to redeem themselves with indeed something "awesome" I will gladly take back my words, but like I said, I dont have high hopes.

And to answer the question: I would like to actually see the Idol, 3times in deeproads and not once have I seen it, not even a glimpse!

Guys don't buy the DLC there are better ways to waste money like drink, hookers or burning it.

The idol is a possibility (and one that I'm super-interested in). I don't know about Orsino/Meredith, simply because my expectation is that any DLC they do will be playable after the game has been completed..

Regarding future DLC, I am most interested in how they handle companions. DAO DLC introduced new companions on very limited terms and with very limited interaction. I am eager, and truthfully I am sort of expecting, DA2 DLC will feature at least one companion from DA2.

Other topics of interest are location and story. I am very eager to see more of the world outside of Kirkwall, and ideally, outside of the Free Marches. I don't know how realistic that is, but nothing would make me happier than a Fallout style episodic DLC that allows us to venture away from main game's location to somewhere new.

The story of DA2 definitely left unanswered and unaddressed issues, so we will have to see how willing Bioware is to address these issues. I would be disappointed if the next DLC is not a direct continuation of where DA2 ended. It would seem pretty awkward if the DLC were post-ending but did not acknowlegde Hawke vanishing. I am not against the idea of the DLC being pre-ending, as long as it is good. But I would prefer post-ending.

Gameplay! This is something that I am looking forward to. I expect the gameplay for future DLC will offer new and unique encounters, with more balance and polish based on feedback from DA2.

My ideal story DLC is an episodic pack featuring 5 hours of content that takes us to 3+ new locations. I really want to know more about the ancient Dwarves from the primeval thaig, that is a topic that there is way too little info on.

I would love to see Act 3 expanded or even a Act 4 that explains the idol and the Thaig.

They've said that their plan for DAII's DLC is for it to be almost exclusively integrated into the main campaign. The DAII menu doesn't even have an "Other Campaigns" button. So, I'm sort of expecting DAII DLC to feature whichever DAII companions you decide to bring with you.

But, will they be silent or chatty?

If we base this on ME2 DLC, they won't say a damn thing :crying:

Awesome... maybe.

How about one little tid bit that won't spoil anything..
Is the DLC set during or after the main game?
The answer to that question would answer every doubt and question I personally have.
