Oh man, he totally just promised to bring back shapeshifter and summoner. I'm so excited!

And if they're not in, of course I will take that as a broken promise and broken trust and hate BioWare forever.

The fact that Luke mentioned awesome 3 times means that they have fixed the awesome button:P(still havent seen anything awesome happen when it has been pushed)

Hopefully the next dlc is story based set at the end of the first act ^_^

I'm curious to see just how big this DLC will be. You can only make DLC so awesome on a limited time table. If it is just a typical 30min-1 hour DLC, how awesome can it be? They can't really flesh the story out in that limited time frame? I hope it does give a little more closure on the story though.

Curtain Pack #01, specially made for your estate.

Imprints depend on your class. Also, each imprint must be bought separately. If you pre-order it, you get an unique unicorn imprint that'll surely outrage Fenris, resulting in an instant rival romance or rival friendship.

Regarding future DLC, I am most interested in how they handle companions. DAO DLC introduced new companions on very limited terms and with very limited interaction. I am eager, and truthfully I am sort of expecting, DA2 DLC will feature at least one companion from DA2.

Other topics of interest are location and story. I am very eager to see more of the world outside of Kirkwall, and ideally, outside of the Free Marches. I don't know how realistic that is, but nothing would make me happier than a Fallout style episodic DLC that allows us to venture away from main game's location to somewhere new.

The story of DA2 definitely left unanswered and unaddressed issues, so we will have to see how willing Bioware is to address these issues. I would be disappointed if the next DLC is not a direct continuation of where DA2 ended. It would seem pretty awkward if the DLC were post-ending but did not acknowlegde Hawke vanishing. I am not against the idea of the DLC being pre-ending, as long as it is good. But I would prefer post-ending.

Gameplay! This is something that I am looking forward to. I expect the gameplay for future DLC will offer new and unique encounters, with more balance and polish based on feedback from DA2.

My ideal story DLC is an episodic pack featuring 5 hours of content that takes us to 3+ new locations. I really want to know more about the ancient Dwarves from the primeval thaig, that is a topic that there is way too little info on.

UGH, I forgot about that!

The best DLC companions were in Leliana's Song. The worst were in Golems. And I just didn't care one bit for anything about Witch Hunt (except for the conversation with Morrigan, which I thought was full of nice foreshadowing for DA2....guess it's foreshadowing for DA3).

I hope we at least use interesting characters and they have a decent reason for being there with Hawke.

Well, I guess Awakening had the best companions but I don't count that as DLC.

It depends if it's a DLC like "Witch Hunt," like "Lair of the Shadow Broker," or "Dragon Age: Awakenings." I've seen theories on these forums that it's going to be a "regular" DLC adventure, but also include an unofficial BFP (Big Frakking Patch) that will remedy some of the complaints even those of us who enjoyed DA2 had about it (identical caves, poor "previous choice recognition," not enough conversations). I like the sound of the latter, but I've learned from ALL video game creators, not just Bioware, to not set my expectations so high.

Obviously I'm not at liberty to discuss anything in detail about any upcoming story DLC but I'll say a few things that will hopefully sate your curiousity for now

First of all, it's awesome. Yup. Awesome.
Secondly, we're ensuring that it is of the utmost quality when it is finally released and as such have really taken our time to incorporate all the feedback we've been receiving from the forums and make changes/additions accordingly.
Third, it's awesome. Did I mention that? Image IPB

We will have more information on it as gets closer to release but don't expect anything too soon; the patch and game quality are top priority.

This is about the third time I've heard a BioWare dev say that the DLC includes feedback from the forum. Storywise, there's a great deal of feedback, but not everything could be handled in a DLC.

However, many agree that Act 3, the conflict between Meredith and Orsino, and the lyrium idol didn't get enough build up for the player so how about...

  • Story DLC exploring the story behind the idol and the primeval thaig
Story DLC expanding on Orsino or Meredith and the situation at the Kirkwall Circle

What do you think might be coming up?

Given the choice between those two, I'd take the latter. I'm also willing to bet it might be Year 1 DLC (God Almighty how I pray for an Athenril Romance in that DLC up until the point she tries to squeeze more work out of you. Maybe because she cares for you and doesn't want you to leave?)

Also, glad to see you and your Desire Spirit made up!

It's DLC. It can't be too big. I felt that Shadow Broker was the limit of size ME2 DLC could get (Arrival kinda proves that). And there's only so much size this could be.

So don't expect a large engrosing story. The best it can do is have a tight well done story with great characters like Lair did. Of course, Lair didn't have to establish those characters. So...maybe the Sebestian storyline could be tight, character focused, and well done like Lair.

But I don't expect a Lair like DLC. That DLC was amazing, near perfect for DLC. Point Lookout was also near perfect. As was The Pitt (but many people disagree with that, I liked the final choice in The Pitt).

It will offer a substitution for the roles of Meredith and Orsino: Loghain vs Bhelen, and their various minions to join the fracus instead of Kirkwall troops. After the dust settles, Lord Harrowmont emerges unscathyed. and assumes the throne FTW!

*abruptly ducks, and runs for another thread*

My guess it will include more of the Qun.

A DLC can be as big as Bioware wants it to be. Although it was also a disc, "Awakenings" was available as a DLC (3200 point! Yikes!) and it was really big. If they do make a really big DLC again, I hope Bioware considers a "loyal fans" discount, or there really will be a lot more whining on these forums (if that's even possible).

I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to defend that DLC. I lurk mostly on gamesites. It got a through thrashing by many. I loved it. I liked the characters, the choice, the setting, and the story.

Seriously, that was tough choice. And there's no point system to tell you what's right. No companions that hate you because of your choice. No epilogue to confirm which leads to a better place. Just a tough choice.

Don't bet on it.

It's DLC not an Expansion set or new game. It's a content addition not a stand alone game.

It's one of the reasons I hope we get a full expansion set instead of a bunch of small DLC. Although, I wouldn't mind a class base DLC. Like Thieves Guild missions over the course of the game (with its own small story) for Rogues, a Merc Guild for Warriors to join (with its own story), and something for the mages.

That would be a nice addition to the main game, help replayablity, and add some more voiced quests to the game. Throw in a few choices per storyline and charge 7 bucks for the thing. Decent DLC.

I'm thinking the first story based DLC will cover the first year after arriving in Kirkwall. The first full year skipped which should of been gameplay not time skip because it would of built a bond from which the story progresses as opposed to 10 minute run up a hill catching a boat and picking a job, dropping you in the character one year later after already settled in Kirkwall.

To me the most logical first story based DLC should either be Carver at Ostagar, Family at Lothering or First year jobs though the jobs given was two types would a DLC have both just incase or did they shoot themselves in the foot removing the possibility of having that as a DLC...

They can't really pick a huge major biggest thing from DA2 to apply to the very first story DLC, the biggest plot items or story aspects if in DLC should be the last DLC imho.

I really like what Maria suggested about some Orsino and Meredith related dlc as well as an exploration of the primeval thaig's story. I would also really enjoy anything companion related. I also think that what scyphoza suggested about exploring some new lands would be great fun.

I've also been thinking it might be interesting to explore what happened in Lothering before the Hawkes left, but I'm not sure how they would work that out and I'm also not sure killing more darkspawn wouldn't get old real fast.
