Hopefully I'm not being too much of a broken record when I say that I really want a smuggling DLC.  It could be my first year in Kirkwall as a smuggler or a package of quests related to the Coterie and other black market actors that could be played in chapter 1.  Maybe some quests trying to cover up your previous misdeeds for chapter 2.  I've suggested elsewhere that a first year DLC in which the smugglers and mercenaries find themselves in conflict (and both sides are playable) could be a good opportunity to provide some missing rogue content without alienating others.

However, I have another idea as well that I think would appeal to more people:  a Circle DLC.  It would be one new area only, but it could be fleshed out at a number of different moments throughout.  You could try break Bethany out, which she might refuse to go along with.  Also, I really think Act 3 missed a chance for you to try to dig up dirt on Orsino or Meredith (or both), depending on whose offer you accept.  Investigating blood magic in the Circle would be cool (though I would enjoy trying to discredit/assassinate Meredith even more).  There would be some limits to how successful you could be in the end to preserve our current ending, but I think it's promising.

Starkhaven would be cool too, though.

Okay Luke Barrett, I will rub your magic lamp and make a wish. I wish for a new adventure outside of Kirkwall (Starkhaven, Antiva or Nevarra) with Cassandra, Varric and SiblingHawke as companions. I wish for a captivating primary story arc with lots of intrigue and twists. I wish for 2-3 really tough and unique boss fights. And I wish for you to make the aforementioned four separate times and release each in an episodic DLC model.

Wish complete.

I am no tech-y so I honestly have no idea if this would even be possible, but could some new specializations be added via dlc? For example a monk class for warriors or something, because that would be kinda cool too. I know it's not story related, but I was just curious.

No standalone adventures please. Even if the DLC is short it has infinitely more value if it can become a part of the main game (either during, before, or after the current stuff we have).

Personally, outside the main story plots being fully tied up(the artifact/conflict), I'd like more character DLC to flesh our companions out more. Like the Witch Hunt DLC, that was perfect. It tied loose ends up on the story and our companion in Morrigan but also left it open for future DA games. It had a mix of both main story and companion. Something that really disappointed me in DA2 was how much better character interaction is compared to DA:O. Yet, none of the characters truly grow enough together, you don't know enough about them. Avelne and I got into some heated arguments together, she really didn't like my previous actions. That kind of rivalry system was cool with the character interaction. I'd love the DLC to expand on the main story and our companions.

Also, I'd like some critical decisions too in the DLC that will carry over to DA3. I really enjoyed meeting Sophia on the cost after I let her go in the Warden's Keep DLC. I thought that was cool how I tied the loose ends up my Warden didn't. Same with the Amaranthine conspirators.

i'd love to see anything that continues hawkes story with the companions we already have rather than new companions that wont appear in da3 or whatever *im not bothered if the dlc is inbetween act 1,2 & 3 or post da2, also a bit of continuity of our love interests if thats possible and siblings too

A fleshed out epilogue style expansion that "ends" the Hawke story arc. Depending on who your romance interest was, the intro scene can be Hawke and the love interest attempting to locate Flemeth and search for answers. Or some other storyline that connects to the mage vs templar plotline.

Siblings were horribly done in DA2. I don't understand why they lack their own unique trees? You don't have many conversations with them and overall, they just seem bland. It is like we're not suppose to get to know them because we're siblings. Like we already know everything about them. But we don't, as a player. You don't get a lot of background on your family...at all.

I'd prefer all the DLC add to the existing game. As in either be a new dungeon adventure you can do during a play through, a new storyline meshed into a play through, or additions at the end of the story that continues the gameplay. Everything should meld into the existing campaign as seemlessly as possible or continue the campaign.

I do not want any one shot 40-60 minute self contained adventures that happen in their own little bubble that you can't travel to and from during a play thru.........if that makes sense. I certainly don't want any adventure where I play some random person that isn't even my character. I wouldn't mind an full expansion as another character, but really not interested in jumping in the shoes of another character for 45 minutes, then never visit it again.

I certainly hope for post-story dlc, things like mini-story arcs between acts would be both limiting and provably frustrating too. Let's leave Kirkwall for a little bit and expand the game world, see how the war starts perhaps?

I'd also like to see story DLC that involves Hawke and companions.  I think the most successful Origins DLC were Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep & RtO because they all involved the warden's story.  I wasn't as interested in the ones that didn't involve the warden at all or placed our character with new companions.  It's harder to get to know and connect with brand new companions in something with such a short length.

This... my main gripe has always been the disconnect I felt with my companions. I don't care if it's via flashbacks of the in between acts so as not to disrupt the DA2 story line. Just make me care for these people somehow. Image IPB

Again anything not set during any chapter of DA:2.
Some short but sweet appendices, mini chapters that continue on from the end of the game revealing more about the places they are set in.

LLomeryn seems to be raised alot so some raider shores, and longshore w..... would be fun

If Hawke does not have to be the main focus, I'd love playing through one of Varric's stories.  Show Hawke and the companions drinking in the pub while Varric spins a yarn (and is occasionally called out on his BS).  Maybe he could tell the story of how Isabela came to Kirkwall or how Leandra and Malcom escaped to Fereldan or about the tragic love affair between the knight commander and the first enchanter.  Okay, kidding on the last scenario, but we all know Varric's a liar.  ^_^

If the DLC must follow Hawke, I want it set either during the first year with Hawke and sibling/other gang members or sometime after year seven with Varric/possible LI/new companions.  Even then I don't think the LI would feel connected unless serious effort was put into acknowledging both the friendship/rivalry system and the big end-game choice.  Oh, just had an idea for a character who could mesh with a Hawke (regardless of alignment) after the end: Charade.

A Hawke story DLC set in the intermediate years would feel really, really awkward to play.  If a companion appeared in a DLC set in year three (for example), I'd feel like I'd have to "unlearn" everything I know happens with them in future years. :?   And it would STILL feel weird to play during those years even without the companions; see GoA for an example.

I also like to see DLC that expand the lost years with Hawke and all the companions and the growth or tension of te LI with quest that take them beyond the walls of Kirkwall.

See the state that Starkhaeven is in that may further Seb choice later. A Sea adventure with Isabela and choosen compainions to reduce the slavery exports. If your sibling lives, see what they are up to and any help on quest there. loosen ends after you leave the final battle/adventure with any companion still with you before your disappearance.  So many things.  Most can be in the lost years.

I really, really, really, really want to know what happened during those three year skips.

Also, Kirkwall Wine Tasting.

... back in the heady days of DA:O someone suggested a "date pack" romance DLC. I STILL WANT THIS FOR ORIGINS.

...BUT I want it for DA2 even MORE. Seriously, the relationships are great in DA2 but we get virtually no romance dialogue with our LIs. There's all this free time between Act II and III where you're meant to be having a great time with your lovers, but I'd like to see some of it.

Apart from that though, anything with our companions in it is really what I'd like. Extra missions pre or post-game like Return to Ostagar and Soldier's Peak which were tops. I also loved Golems of Amgarrak...

OK scrap all that. PLEASE I want a DLC that explains the whole Enigma of Kirkwall thing. WHAT WERE THOSE TEVINTERS UP TO???

+1 on the Enigma of Kirkwall;it  would make a great horror story.  :wizard:

While I appreciate a so-called  date pack, that would only work for two of the LIs; won't go into details (glances at forum title).

I too would like to cast a vote for integrated DLC versus some of the stand-alone missions we had in Origins. Personally, since DA2 was so focused on Hawke's personal rise to power, I would also like to state a preference for DLC that still has Hawke as the main character.

And though it may be controversial to say it, I loved the DLC integration in Mass Effect 2, where DLC could be accessed before, during or after the major plot arcs of the game, allowing you to play it on new playthroughs or on old characters who had already completed the game.

Thanks so much, Mr. Barrett, for opening up this thread for some good brainstorming! :wizard:

I would like the continuation of the Warden's story. Maybe the end boss could be Hawke. As the Warden we could kill Hawke and all of his companions and then Morrigan could use blood magic to zombify their remains and force them to destroy Kirkwall. Then Alistair could kill imposter Alistair and Zevran could kill imposter Zevran and the rest of the alien-looking elves... I can dream, can't I?

On a serious note, I think you need to focus on introducing new environments that don't include caves of any shape or size. Also, new companions would be welcome... and if you could make Bethany a more permanent character I would be appreciative.

ANDERS! After he runs off with the love of his life, what happens to him? Does Hawke excorcise Justice out of him. Please, I want a Justice Excorcism DLC. Or at least some closure!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants Love Interest closure.

My only true requirement for story DLC is that it be about Hawke and his/her companions from DA2. I don't want to meet new characters yet; I feel I still have a lot to learn from the ones we have.

My biggest question is what does Hawke do after Act 3. But, if you do something like that it needs to be sure to include interaction for all of the LIs... don't send us to Ameranthine alone again; that would not be cool.

If you're thinking of filling in the gaps between Acts, I think it would be fun to take the Amell mansion back. In fact, it wasn't until my 4th playthrough that I spoke to Leandra in Act 2 and realized the mansion we lived in was her old home. I'd love to know how we got it back from the slavers.

I'd also love to see Sebastian take back Starkhaven, or finally decide not to.  Getting him to give up his vows for Hawke would be totally awesome, too.  LOL  But, although I've heard rumors about Sebastian's story not being finished, I don't know how feesible it would be to do a DLC based on a DLC character.  *sigh*

If I could have any DLC wish, it would probably be to add in more options to the current game's stories rather than new ones.

1. More acknowledgement of relationship growth between time jumps. Aveline does this well.
2. In a Mass Effect like fashion perhaps, some interrupts: Huon's wife's scene strikes me in that particular area.
3. Actual and/or improved choices and consequences: such as Quentin's major scene.
4. Improved relations between family: hugging Carver in some of the deeper moments like I've seen Bethany do at least once in a clip, or inviting Gamlen to stay with Hawke during Act II and III.
5. Getting to know Charade better.

Those are examples of the only kind of DLC that I would probably look forward to.
