I would like the chance to redeem him, much in the style of Loghain, Aribeth, and Sarevok.
Are we going to have to kill the Illusive Man?

Silly Billy
And the amount of hatred TIM receives is odd.
Comments like "I'm gonna inject him with acid", "I'm gonna feed him to thresha maws", "I'm gonna let Jack rip him apart" just seem so unnecessaraly extreme given what information we do have on TIM.
I guess it's just paragons projecting all the crimes of Cerberus onto TIM, ignoring the fact that it was a bunch of faceless unknown people who actually did them.

They express more hate against TIM than they do the Reapers. LOL

TIM has already become the ME equivalent of a Grey Warden with his partial huskification.

He's responsible for all crimes committed by cerberus, he is the leader of cerberus.
But even if we ignore the crimes comitted by "rogue cells", his remaining activities are bad enough.

I doubt I will be so heartbroken if I'll have to kill TIM

A good liar (which TIM has been completely, beyond a shadow of a doubt proven to be in Retribution) can make any cause sound noble. They can make any group sound better than they are and they can manipulate events so that such a group is shown to be better.

The Inept Man is completely incompetent, only thing he managed to do was resurrect my awesomeness so that I can kick ass.
As soon as I get the opportunity, I fill his head with lead.
I am certainly doing this on my Renegade playthrough. Being Renegade means doing things MY way.

As a paragon after blowing up the base I was able to essentially tell TIM that he needed to get behind me or get the heck out of the way. So there's nothing special about renegades in this regard.
That said, I think most paragons would try to take him prisoner, though I imagine TIM might not be taken alive. Overall though I think there's a fairly good chance he'll survive ME3, just because he likes to keep himself hidden away. MAYBE if he tries to use the Collector Base to turn himself into a Reaper (I can see that appealing to him), then it would be different in such games, but otherwise I would not think it likely that he'll be tracked down and killed during a Reaper invasion.

I would really hate to see such a great character killed....
Shepard has already promised this and I agree with him.

I highly doubt Paragons will coldly execute TIM. Wusses that they are, they will just try to persuade him into submission. Maybe Paragons will be able to bring Wrex so that they won't have to do the "dirty" stuff.

Paragons need not waste the bullet... They just give epic speech that results in TIM killing himself much like Saren.

I know many "Paragons" that would execute TIM in cold blood and without closing an eye.
