Looks like everyone who said that sales were terrible and not enough to merit a sequel were pretty wrong.

Not really. Even assuming this means two million copies sold rather than just shipped, sales lose meaning when you cut the price by more than half and have to package in a better game to push the numbers up.

Hm? Oh, I just thought posting links of user reviews looked like fun. Didn't know why these were left out of the party, though. Huh. Strange. Ah well.

??? It's still 50-60 dollars on Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Steam. What, you mean they conducted sales which temporarily lowered the price? OMG, worst game ever! No other good game has ever gone on sale!
And the "better game" they packaged it with, when it comes down to it, amounts to $10-20 worth of bonus promotional content at its current selling price. Big deal. And you show me one promotion in the world that isn't designed to "push the numbers up," and I'll show you a ****ty promotion.

As for DAO based pre-orders, the pre-orders were around 400 000, a QUARTER. Based on the success of DAO, the marketing campaign (Trailers, banners, ads). DAII is doing fine.

Check out some user reviews slick.
Also, what promotions did DAO have when it was released?

God awful "This is the new sh*t" trailers for one. (Completely misleading trailers like "Urn of Sacred Ashes" aside...)

A free copy of Mass Effect 1? I'm just assuming cause I keep hearing DA2 is so awesome and it comes with ME2, so I'm sure Origins MUST have come with ME1. Or mabey it just wasen't awesome enough to have a free game thrown in...

Some sales for DA2 dropped as low as $20 USD. ME2 being given away with the purchase. Horrible user reviews.

Sales are done everywhere. It's normal. Here the game still goes for its full price and no ME2 bonus either. User reviews on Metacritic, you mean?
Yeah, I don't care about "This game sucks!" masking as a "review".

So DAO's price dropped by 1/3 durring sales two months after release and it was bundled with a free game? Wish I could have gotten in on that deal.
You can do better than the other reviews though. I'm sure there are some that state that DA2 is the best game of the year. I tend to read user reviews though. I wont be pre-ordering another Bioware product, that is for certain.

They shipped the 2 million before they started bundling DA II and ME 2 together. The report is for the quarter ending March 31st.Everwarden wrote...

Well, neither "This game sucks!" nor "This is the bestest game eva!" will convince me as a "review". Balance is the key. I've read fantastic in depth critical reviews as well as brilliant in depth positive reviews for both DAO and DAII. However, I prefer to form my own opinion and if I'm not convinced to pre-order/buy, I'll rent/borrow the game first. Just the way I do it, of course.

Especially if it means the end of a series that I like.
Honest and sincre criticism I love, tear the aspects you disliked apart I will.
However wishing for the boat you're on to sink is a little too much for me.

That's not necessarily a good thing, though. They announced when they started the promotion that they had moved (shipped or sold, I don't care) 1 million copies, and now they say they moved (shipped) 2 million by the end of March.Maria Caliban wrote...

So retailers could very well still be sitting on all that inventory if it was already out in the channel before April (sales haven't been going up since then, by all accounts).
