Is there a mod out there that allows you to skip the bs story that Varric is feeding the Seeker in the beginning so you can hop staight to character creation? If not that would be an awesome mod since I hate having to do that thing over and over...

This would be awesome!
I do find it a little bit annoying how you can't make your character until AFTER that battle :<.

That is so true. I strongly believe that nothing should come before the character creation window.

Yeah this would be good. Or there should be an option in the game to avoid the damn thing. Was fun the first time, was "oh well, OK" the second time but starting from third time it's been "darnation, not this again!". So yeah, please, anyone

it's a good temporary solution, hopefully we'll get a full skip option either from modders or BioWare at some point for the lazier among us

It's already made social.bioware.com/project/4468/&v=files. With the added bounus of letting you spend that first ability point.

You rock, Xronit! What do we do, though, about the personality? There's a dialogue option there that decides Hawke's starting personality.

Personality isn't much of an issue. You will get a new chance to set the personality after killing a few mobs.

Thanks for the link to that project
EDIT: just deleted the mod because of it being completely weird with my cutscenes and after my cutscene :<.
