I posted this in the general forum but was told I would get better help here.
Anyway... I've been playing DA2 for a couple weeks now,
and one thing keeps getting under my skin BIG TIME: The game keeps
deleting all my saved files! The most saves I can have per character, it
seems, is three total (one manual save + one auto-save + one
quicksave). Basically just one of each type...really? I'm only allowed
one manual save per character? This is driving me crazy because I like
to revisit old saves and try different things out and experiment a lot.
But all my saved files just keep disappearing.
How can I get the game to stop deleting all of my saved files?
How can I adjust the number of max saved games allowed from ONE (of each type) per character?
Thank you in advance from an extremely frustrated player!

Additional info:
- Run the game on Vista Pro.
- Got the game from Direct2Drive.com, so I'm not using steam.

Just out of curiosity, did you check in your 'my documents' folder and look in the Bioware directory? the saves should be in 'Bioware'...'dragoneage2'...'characters'...('character name')....'saves'. Look in there and see if all the saves are there. If they are not there, then there is a problem. Just a hunch, but maybe the game isn't seeing them for some reason. If they are there, then at least you can back them up and maybe re-install the game. My gut feeling is, it may be a Vista issue and possibly the saves went to the 'virtual store'. That happened to me a few times on another game. I am now running Win 7 Ulitmate 64. I hope you get this figured out.

Not much to say, looks very unique problem. I have not have any problems with saves.
Something to do with character names maybe or you have save files and game in different hard disk. This could cause like other hard disk to go sleep mode? Also check the free disk space where the saves are, they can take easyly like over 200-900MB of disk space per character.
Like above sayed, those files are stored in you games character directory, behind directory name based you character name. Check them manually are they there? Usually save files are same place where you other personal files, while game is where you installed it.

Yet another person to say "This problem seems to be unique."

I've been playing since release day, and all my saves (now in the several hundreds) are correctly found under:
"\\[user's documents]\\Bioware\\Dragon Age 2\\Characters\\[charactername]\\Saves".
What's in your '\\Bioware\\Dragon Age 2\\Characters\\" folder?

The game NEVER should delete any standard saves
* You can have unlimited manual saves
* The game will overwrite Auto and Quick Saves
In any given playthrough, I have over 1000 saves and folders
