Will we ever fly in a Bioware game?

Now I don't really want to be zooming around the screen with a jetpack, but I sure would like ME3 to take in account the Z axis(sorry if used the wrong term). Some sort of Biotic jumping or levitation would be cool like in the cutscene movies.
Mostly though I am not posting this because I want an ME + Superheroes game. I just want maybe a map or two with some sort of zero G or light gravity combat which would require a bit of jumping, floating, type physics which by extension would fit with some of the powers we see Biotics use in the movie parts.

Technically, that was DLC. Originally planned for the vanilla game, but still...
Also think he meant "ground combat", not "vehicle combat".

Who cares if it was DLC? Was that excluded in the OP?

I guess I need to be more clear. I mean in a sense of adding such physics or capability to the combat maps and the game engine that Shep uses to walk around, explore and do combat.
And yes I meant ground combat where we play Shep and use his powers and shoot his guns, not the vehicle mini games. This isn't a "gotcha" game, mostly would just like to see some low or zero-g combat, and like I said, from there, maybe a few more interesting powers.

ya know, it has been a long time since I played it. But I did think of it, and I seem to recall jumping was only possible as a Jedi move, and never usable unless you were in combat and targeting a bad guy to leap at. It was pretty much just a combat charge move, not actual implementation of flying, levitating or being able to jump to other levels of a game map. Like i said long long time ago, I may remember wrong.
Now the Jedi Knight FPS game did force jump really well.

A big open world game like Oblivion, it makes sense to have horse riding so you can cover the massive amount of open empty space between things to do. In a game like Dragon Age where the story moves you from location/encounter to the next without pointless walking, it is superfluous.
In a game like Tomb Raider, it makes sense for Lara to swim into hidden chambers or solve puzzles underwater as that is the nature of her character. And it makes sense in a Superman title to be able to fly places. These are elements core to the characters.
In a game like Mass Effect, we could add swimming, flying, jumping, etc as our Dev team is pretty clever and could absolutely include them if they chose to, but they would still be tacked on without much point. Do you really want to bunny-hop Shepard across the battlefield? Does Grunt really need to swim into a cave someplace to reach the geth? Adding a feature like this just to have it included in the game doesn't make sense. It doesn't really add anything of importance. It doesn't really make the game better and, what is worse, is it has to take up the Dev time, memory space, etc to be included, possibly bumping out other more intrinsic content.
That said, the Dev team is working to make Mass Effect 3 even better than Mass Effect 2. The addition of jumping or swimming or flying is possible, if the team sees the value in having it in the game. You'll have to stay tuned and see what they come up with.
But no riding horses. Sorry.

I wouldn't call that flying though since you never really changed altitude. It was driving with an invisble floor. I would love to see flying, jumping, swimming etc in the game. While yes as Chris pointed out it needs to serve a point for it to get dev time, the detail that when you bump into a stream, log or whatever minor hassle that stops you cold that a 5 year old could get aorund breaks a suspension of belief for many might make it worh while. Also things like swimming help to add alternate routes which also add to the replayability of a game.

Flying (like swimming, jumping, horse riding, etc) is one of those features that belongs in a game IF it a) makes the game better in some way andmakes sense for the game.
But no riding horses(hoverbikes). Sorry.
Yeh, don't care much about swimming or hopping around, although I'd love to see a Krogan bunny hopping across the battlefield.
Mostly I am just excited everytime i see those cutscenes of a biotic levitating, and wish they could be included in the gameplay somehow. We are in space though, the reason I want the physics to exist in the game is to do some fun change ups of the usual combat maps. I'd love combat on a planet with 1/20th of the gravity we have on earth, but it doesn't mean anything if a character can't even jump, or combat in zero g.
I'm still disapointed we won't get a hoverbike(horse). I'm gonna break you guys one day, I've been demanding a mount in one of your games for 5 years. Mostly just to agitate YOU:)
