Yeah, um, that's why it's called the indie market.

Doesn't change that for the KKs even the minimal RPG system in ME1 was apparently too complicated and that they demand more mindless shooter stuff.
Problem being, that's not the feedback people gave about ME1. Not that I recall anyway.

But thats what Bioware/EA apparently heard when you consider the changes between ME1 and 2 and what they now seem to do with 3.

I hope you realise the people you're referring to as 'konsole kiddies' don't buy games like Mass Effect. And trying to provoke a console flamewar isn't going to help anyone. yes, I own an Xbox and yes I play CoD sometimes. I also play RPGs. It shouldn't matter what genre a game is in, only that it is enjoyable. You want to insult people who play consoles? Go ahead. I honestly couldn't care less. If it gives you a sense of superiority then good for you. I'm going to continue enjoying the Mass Effect games for what they are - good action-RPG games. Many of the RPG components didn't make sense in the first game - they spend so long making plausible lore only for Shepard to be able to carry around 50 virtually identical guns that can fire forever? Makes perfect sense.
Also, if it wasn't for the Xbox then Mass Effect may not have ever existed. You should be thankful you got to play them.

1. DA2 was rushed & massified (lol couldn't resist)
2. The ME & DA series are developed by two different teams. Its inaccurate to say ME3 will consist of the same conclusion DA2 did.

I see someone can't use the qoute function, oh my. And guess what the Indie market for the most is 2nd rate and sucks ass. If bio stuck to that it would never have made it off of the PC. Hell Bioware hasn't been Indie in over 10 years. It just traded Microsoft, for EA.

And **** like this is why I'm washing my hand of this thread. Mark my words I'm going to make a list of (or I should) all who are so "worried" then should bio keep its word and add in more RPG elements to please some of you "fans" I'm going to take count to see how many are still ****ing, and I'ld wager heavily it will b the bulk of you, who will never be happy unless bio went back to being a little known, matters none at all Indie company who sells maybe 5000 copies of a game a year. And That will never happen, so why do some of you even stay?

I wish some on here took a few business classes and learned what being a company is all about. EA is in the business of making games that can make them money period . If that means changing ME 3 to appeal to a wider audience and by doing so will make them more money . Then they will do that . Investors and Share holders do not care about the gaming community or franchise fans . they see Call of Duty sales figures and say why can't EA get those types of numbers . EA has bosses and its the EA share holders and investors and if they want something they will get it .
WHY YOU SOULESS CAPITILIST HOW DARE YOU TRY AND MAKE MONEY!
J/k. And you hit the nail on the head, but good luck getting it to stick anywhere.

Well, Mass Effect is neither a shooter nor an RPG, but a cross between the two.MajesticJazz wrote...
No, it is just that when I want to play a RPG I want to play a RPG. When I want to play a shooter I want to play a shooter.
Good for you. I also play RTS, puzzle games, arcade fighters, and old-school flight sims. Oh, do I love me my 90's flight sims. (X-Wiiiiiiing, yeah baby!)I play games outside of RPGs such as Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (This fall I'll be playing BF3) and other shooters such as Gears of War (currently in the beta now). So "Quick twitch" gameplay isn't a problem for me.
But they don't make 90's flight sims any more. No more Tie Fighter, no Fury3. The genre is dead. Pity, because with today's technology, they would be frickin' sweet. Alas, it was a niche market that ran out of ideas. But you know what? I don't bellyache about it, because I still have those games buried somewhere in my endless piles of dusty old junk, and I can dig them out when I'm waxing goddamn nostalgic. Granted, it takes a bit of luck to get the joystick working again, but nothing beats that feeling of soaring through the clouds, blasting enemy fighters with my lasers. I get a similar joy when I crank up the classic rock station on the radio--they just don't make 'em like they used to.
And you know what? I'm glad they don't. God, the last thing I need is for every single rock band to sound like Jethro Tull. As much as I love 'em, I'd shoot myself.
So you don't want your genres to cross over, eh? Personally, I love it when they do that--it leads to new types of games, innovation in the medium, et cetera. Genres can go stale within a couple years, and after a while every game that comes out is basically the same as something else, with different names and swapped character models. That is what I don't get when Cheez says that ME3 is going more towards "pew pew". Well homegirl, if I wanted "pew pew" I would go play Halo: Reach, BFBC2, or Gears of War 3 Beta.....
I like it when games evolve--it means I'll get to do something I've never done before when the next console generation rolls around, and it lends a certain charm to the low-poly classics of yesteryear. Yeah, a lot of new ideas will flop, and yes, the market often becomes oversaturated with dozens of developers jumping on the latest and greatest gaming fad, but if every new game was just a rehash of something old, I'd have nothing to look forward to. The almighty classic RPG would become the new Madden--people would stop caring.
PS: Call me homegirl again and you're losing a nut.

Too bad that Bioware/EA wants to make them to and thus "streamlines" their games more and more.

The only thing is if Microsoft had not decided to publish Mass Effect 1 then there might have not been a Mass Effect franchise .

That was what Mike Laidlaw was saying for DA2 and look how that turned out. He was going for the COD market share.

And with just like been in love with another person comes the fear of losing them
So I suppose what Im saying is that we need to trust our 'partner' and worrying about them constantly is going to do nothing but tear you up and drive them away, is that what we want??
So I say we let Mass Effect try out a new hairstyle, or combat system and remember why we fell in love with her in the first and the new 'Hair' doesnt change the peson she
Soz tht turned out a bit ****gy, so ill try and balance it out
ME3 sex scenes: ****** or GTFO!

And game communities don't care about helping investors to more expensive cars. Gamers want good games and value for money, since these two objectives sometimes are at odds do you really find it strange why people are worried here?

Lets see. Less "complicated" customization (armour, weapons, mods), a ammunition system, heavy weapons, less skills.
No, absolutely no evidence that they tried to make this game more shooter like...

Less skills? they're adding more skills, and this modding feature is one RPG step ahead.

You know that EA also said that most or of it games now were gonna have multiplayer in it, but as game informer confirmed there is no multiplayer in mass effect 3. Also stop using DA2 an excuse as why mass effect 3 is gonna be suck because the dragon age are an entire different team from mass effect.
That's exactly what I said a few mins ago. Worry is getting us nowhere.
