@someone with mass - says the person with only mass effect 2 registered on his profile and a Tali signature. Hmmm...l yeah, you're definitely credible.

And that means something...how? And I have played both Dragon Age games. Besides the characters, they're both pretty meh.

I guess none of us have played ME1.. oh wait, there's no icon for that. Hmm. That's convenient.

About registering games...yeah taht was silly thing to mention....hahaha it means absolutely nothing...you can be a hardcore ME fan that's has all the games and has played them a gazillion times and CHOOSE not to regirter squat...it's freedom baby...you gotta love it

Anyhow, I believe that there's a chance we'll get the game we think we should and also a chance they have made some bad decisions,i'm leaning towards the first because they haven't let me down with both previous games...

But in the end we'll have to wait till E3, but more improtantly when we have it in our hands and exprecience it all the way trhough...then we shall trully know if it was Heaven or Hell

Buy every store, and in 12 or so hours, you'll have enough money to buy all the upgrades needed. Yay...

Good thing Shepard has a track record of hypocracy on picking his favorite store on the citadel. Because once he owns them all it'd be difficult to endorse all of them otherwise.

This thread, is like an episode of Fringe... obviously so many people have travelled forward in time, and then come back with actual FACTS to tell everyone about.

I, for one, welcome our new time-traveling, no-quibble fact-disseminating overlords.

When I read the phrase shooter rpg hybrid my mind quickly went to Borderlands. If ME3 were to deliver an experience similar to BL but with bioware style RPG I would be one happy girl. In the meantime give us fable style co-op where our friends can pick and control squadmates on missions.

Ooh, a reference to decent television. There aren't enough of these on the internet.

IMO people need to stop overreacting about this, and need to see that John Riccitello (CEO of EA) was talking to a group of investors when he made the comment about a "larger market opportunity" for ME3. Now, these investors may also be gamers, as they're putting money into EA but that's beside the point.

I think the main thing that people need to understand is that "larger market opportunty" to investors/finance people means a greater opportunity for increased sales, greater returns on investments = more profit. As opposed to "larger market" = "broader audience of gamers".

There are so many ways to interpret what he meant. Either he's just saying that to shore up investor confidence, or EA is planning on making ME their sci-fi CoD now that DA2 failed in getting the CoD crowd. If it's the latter I humbly ask that Riccitello do that with a spin-off shooter set in the ME universe and leave the RPG aspects of ME3 alone.

No one said the rpg part world be removed the thing is we do not know what he means. But EA owns the Mass Effect Ip and honestly they can do what they want with it . some on here need to stop thinking as if us fans control everything about a franchise

That is exactly what it means the more money the happier the share holders and investors are

You're right, DA2 was first person, had online multiplayer, lots of guns and a story based around the US army killing terrorists and Russians.

Also, have you heard of something called Battlefield 3? THAT is EA's attempt to make a CoD.

Given the debacle that was DA2 and it's attempts to "capture a larger market", comments like this are a bit of a cause for concern. All we can do is hope that this was nothing more than EA Exec speak, and that they're not going to bollocks up ME3 as well.

Here's the difference:  w/ ME3 we have a CEO in an investor conference call talking about "larger market opportunity".  This is expected CEO behavior.  It comes as naturally to them as breathing, and probably involves about as much thought.  With DA2 you got statements about appealing to wider audiences and whatnot from the Lead Designer, and in multiple interviews.  You also got similar statements from other devs (e.g. Fernando Melo) about DA2.

They said that they want to improve the shooter factor and THE RPG FACTOR... wtf you guys are complaining about?!

I don't want the shooter factor improved, that's why. I don't really care if they put new weapon mods or whatever people wanna see in a RPG; I just CAN'T play a game which gameplay reminds me a frenzied shooter (CoD) or an action one with no time to think (DA2). There's a few games I really love but I can't play for that reason: Kingdom Hearts, Heavy Rain (QTE just makes me sick), Devil May Cry, etc.

ME2 was too much shooter for me. Yeah, I've played it (even on insane) and it was OK but I don't think I can play anything more shooter than that. More RPG for ME3? Thanks, it'll be great. But please... no more shooter : (

I understand this.  But this is why I play the ME series but not BioShock (do you know that the people at Irrational still think of the BioShock series as an RPG?).  In ME I can pause, and look around.  So there is no problem.  Heck there are a lot of RPGs games that I cannot do that in.  In cannot do that in Fallout; the VATs system is poorly designed and eventually you exhaust your VAT points.

So you actually find it physically impossible to play any games that are not hardcore RPG's? Right...

It's called open-mindedness. More people need it.

Love this !!!!

I do not understand why people still arguing around ME3.
It is now clear that in the best scenario it will be just like ME2...
The problem is that I HATE ME2... Gear in Space with non interactive dialogue cut-scenes (because this is what renegade/paragon dialogue wheel actually is).
And what about people arguing around rpg elements... ME2 issues are much more deep and generalized!!!

After ME2, DA2 Riccitello statements, Cristina "The Cutter" Norman statements etc... do you really believe that we will get something different from ME2?  In GI Casey Hudson has still admitted that ME3 will be more linear than ME2 !!!!!!!!
ME1 is a far mirage.
It was a labour of love. It was the last masterpiece (togheter with DA:O maybe) of a Company that is dead almost 3 years ago...
But people have started to recognize it only with DA2....

You're going to hell for insulting VATS. Every single video game in existence would be improved with the inclusion of VATS. I don't care how it would work, every game could be improved with it period. The cinematic action is unparalleled.

I do not mind hype and critical acclaim and awards... I only mind my judgment.
I was over hyped for ME2. Belive me, I have loved ME1 so much that the wait for ME2 was similar to the wait for the prequel trilogy.
But when I start playing... second after second , I remember perfectly, the disappointment starts to grow in me...
Initially I have tried to deny it... But then it was more then clear... ME2 has quite nothing in common with ME1.
Again I consider ME2 just a mere action spin-off more than a proper second act in an already planned trilogy.

Reagarding the dead company... I am referring to Bioware artistical death, their death as masterful developers.

Hammerhead auto-seeks targets.  So does the rocket launcher.
