(DLC Unaothorised Ultimate)

Hi Guys,

I've followed the advice here to

  • Close out of the game. Go to My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings.
  • Find the Addins.xml file and open it with Word Pad, Notepad, or any XML editor.
  • Press Ctrl. A to select all, then Ctrl. C to copy.
  • Paste the copied text into a new Notepad, Word Pad, or Word document and save the file. This will be your back-up.
  • Go back to the Addins.xml file and replace all entries that read RequiresAuthorization="1" with RequiresAuthorization="0".[/b]
And this does remove the unauthorised flags. However I've read that this does not fully enable all of the DLC content.

So my questions are:

1) Does anyone know if this ^ fix, when it succeeds in removing the unauthorised flags, fully enables the DLC

and

2) Whats the best in game way of checking the DLC is properly activated? Looking in my inventory for blood armour didnt work, but maybe because I'm still on the tutorial level(???)

thanking in advance for help.

You won't get DLC quests until you finish the Origin (tutorial bit) I think once finish Ostagar you should have a piece of the armor in your inventory

Yeah, that also happened to me. Keep going dude.

On a side note, doesn't that piece of dlc seem really badly implemented? I mean the armor just shows up out of thin air. couldn't be bothered to write in a new quest?

I am now about to cry.

I uninstalled the game to try a reinstall - before I read your responses.

I have reinstalled the game via steam....

and now NO content is present. Not to download or anything. No awakenings, nothing... its as if steam has only installed the base game.

WTF?? please help >.< *goes off to bang head on wall*

I just figured out how to get it working. I had this installed on my laptop first, stationary second. I got the stationary to work after reinstalling. But on my laptop to my great frustration i didnt. Ive been messing around with every setting there is, tried every solution possible. The one that stood out was services.msc , and putting DAupdater to automatic. My problem was i didnt even find DAupdater there at all. Until i combined two solutions ;
If you have the same probem as me. Run services.msc.
then on RUN on start menu, type "net start DAupdatersvc"
It should show up, then find it in the services, set it to automatic and start it. that fixed it for me :)
Hope this helps someone else having this problem

I don't know why you can't find it, but I wouldn't use it. It breaks the DLC. If you are having difficulty with DLC authorization, either see the Solutions Round Up thread pinned to the top of this forum, or install the 1.05 beta patch which is also linked in a thread pinned to the top of the forum.
