The males probably wanted to get it on with the females, but Taylor didn't want to share the wimminz.

But I understand where you're coming from. And at first look it does seem weird, however, BioWare and Mass Effect has never, as far as I know, portrayed women as weaker or less than men (unless you think that them not using femshep in marketing is just that)

Jacob's loyalty mission should have clearly been about his mother Ronalda Taylor leading a harem of male crewmembers.

A female acting captain raping her male crew wouldn't have been well-received.

aaaaand so it was that in an alternate universe the huge Gernsback was under the command of Ronalda Taylor and the cargo was comprised of handcuffs, rubber ball gags, chains, floggers, whips and assorted femdom sextoys

I always thought the point of Jacob's LM was to show that even 200 years into future it's still possible for humanity to slip back into a primal animalistic state.
Or something to that effect...

And the Women in ME:2 are submissive? Where in the hell are you from?
As to those on the Island...well planet. Simple he who has the gun makes the rules. If I have a gun and some guard bots with guns who don't go to sleep ever, I could pretty much do what I felt inclinded to do. And on a base level males are far more likely to resort to violence, while females are more likely to fallow a community pattern. Scientifically proven, and has been such from the dawn of man.
And once more with the case of force, if his dad wanted to make them all dress as clowns and call him Dr Mindbender, whats to stop him? Law? What law, massed uprising? They don't have the numbers to endure the losses it would take, hell none of them could remember who they were. Its like running a Preschool. Morals? Who's going to know? An Officer record left on the ship hints at that. Most people arn't good unless a form of punishment for being bad is held over them.
I also suspect the males or some of them where first to question his orders, OR the officers got greedy and threw them out to have there own private love harem. If you noticed none of the Fems were armed period.
A more important question to ask isn't how this can happen, in fact it can and very well would happen today if a number of factors happen. The question to ask is, how did they keep those clothes so nice and clean and intact over all of these years, apperantly not age (or all the none officer crew were in there early Teens) and lastly, no children? Serriously all those years just banging 7 women to a man and no illegit kids running around? Tsk tsk tsk, you mean to tell me your were carrying a bunch of condoms on that freighter?

it just freaks me out that all the women remained submissive and all the men became rebellious. Does neural degradation cause gender stereotypes?
The men became rebellious because Capt Taylor exiled them and used mechs to attack them if they did something he didn't like.

It also wouldn't be believable. Once the men realized "free nookie" they'd be in favor of it, and it wouldn't be rape anymore.
