I have searched on this forum for similar issues and whilst I have found posts from other users, none of them have solutions or explanations.

1. What is the nature of the problem you are seeing?
     Game crashes with suttering sound, as if it is about to BSOD. It does not, however, but freezes and compltely locks up my PC. Unable to alt-tab, ctrl+alt+delete, etc, and have to force reboot.

2. When did the problem start occurring?
     Variously, 5-10mins into gameplay. Haven't been able to play more than about 20mins. Thus far has happened 3 times and the game has only been installed a couple of hours.

3. Where does your problem occur?
      Everywhere. Happened once in the prologue whilst not doing anything, then again whilst outside Kirkwall during combat, and finally whilst running around Kirkwall.

4. What are the steps in replicating the problem?
      Simply playing the game.

5. Have you modified your game in any way?
Latest patch + all DLC + high res textures. No other alteranions.

Do you still have the problem without high res textures activated? Your card isn't really suited to that optiion being activated so you'll likely suffer problems though maybe not crashes

What happens when it freezes? Does the screen freeze up or go black? And whats your thermal readings for your GPU and CPU during gameplay?
