I must admit, am interested by this. Mass Effect 3 is possibly the only game I am considering spending £100 0r over on so I am waiting to see what is included in the Ultra edition of that. Hoping for a Normandy with that. Not really keen of the dark black lines on the hull of what I am calling the Alliance modified SR2.

Agreed!
I can't wait to see what the extra editions of Mass Effect 3 come out with though. I'll probably just end up going into gamestop and saying "Just put anything and everything Mass Effect releated on my card please."

6.25 inches is a bit small. Don't expect too much details. And I prefer those that hang from the ceiling.

The Normandy in Mass Effect 3 is still the SR2. According to the Game Informer article, the Alliance took apart the SR2 to learn more about it, and reassembled it. Not surprisingly, they gave it a new paint job.
It was a pretty clever route that BioWare took with the ME3 Normandy. They needed to have a new Normandy for ME3, but it would have been too cliched to blow up the SR2, not to mention impossible for the Alliance to completely build a new one in time for the Reaper invasion.
So, we have the same ship, but with a new look and (from what the GI article said) a slightly different configuration.

Yeah, 6.25" is pretty small.
A model ship that costs $35, and isn't even longer than my ****, seems like a rip-off.
Hopefully, they'll team up with Revell to release a model kit, but preferably they would release a kit for the Normandy for each of the three games, and possibly some other ships from the Mass Effect universe. I want my bedroom to look like Shepard's cabin in Mass Effect 2.

Seeing as how this is being released to the public before ME3 comes out, I can only assume that the 'special surprise inside' that's going to come with the Uber Collector's Edition will NOT be a model of the Normandy. I won't order this until I have some confirmation of this fact.

Dark horse replicas are not that bad but they lack of some finishing details. Sometimes details are crappy and blurry. But at least i have a model of the Normandy in my desktop. I love it really. I hope Bioware or EA releases like valve did some replicas for the game. I will buy for certain the shadow broker ship model, all the 3 normandies, a turian dreadnought, the destiny ascension, a geth ship and a reaper. Sovereign would be just fine!.
