If they only played a demo, how do they know any of these squaddies are full time? Or am I misunderstanding what is meant by demo and they played most of the game?

They probably get to ask questions before/during/after the demo. Some/most will be answered. 
As iffy as some of the info is, it's would be pretty hard in misinterpret a squadmember being confirmed or not...

Plus, ME3 is, what, 6 months after ME2? I could understand them changing their tune over a few years, if it was properly foreshadowed but a few months is a hell of a short time to do such a drastic U-turn.

ME3 starts about two months after the events of Arrival.

No new LIs... so the people who lost every possible LI in ME1 and 2 have to go with... Liara... or no romance? Okay. It kind of ticks me off. It shouts to me that there won't be too many more characters added, which is fine I guess... but I really would've liked some new characters other than ANOTHER human.


Developing on old stories is fine, but I want some new ones too! Of course I understand that this just bloats the cast list more, but where is my new Quarian, where is my new Krogan, Turian, Salarian. Come on!

I at least want a male Quarian, would be interesting to get a new perspective on Quarian life. Doesn't have to be a romance, but I'm sure the ladies would love some quarian action too.

Rather than sacrificing himself I think this is more about Shepard having to sacrifice others - possibly entire races - to win.

Uh, you do realize the entire game could be considered "the end of the world", right?

Since it says, 'worst' possible time, I'm assuming it's referring to one particular moment that is the worst in the game, which makes the whole thing lame.

First, also have a word with KOTOR 2 - rushed out for the ka-ching and they didn't even let the developers fix it afterwards.

Thanks, I hope you're right. I went into ME2 unspoiled and expected Kaidan to be a full time squaddie and all I got was a stupid cameo. I'm still gunshy from that.

No new LI's doesn't mean no new squadmates of characters.
You want a male quarian? I'll bet Kal'Reegar will be a temporary squadmate, or at least you will meet him, during the resolution of the Quarian/Geth conflict.

Surprisingly enough, I didn't. I'm now just worried it'll be handled the same as it was in DA:O, which was the one aspect of the game I really did not like.

I mean the fact it was critically disappointing and the fact that it was pretty crap in general.

Also, I don't know if you've seen Attack of the Clones but that almost completely ruined Star Wars' credibility.

And I'm saying your assumption is poorly grounded as the entire game could be considered the worst possible time.  I mean, love-life troubles at any point during a Reaper invasion?  Sounds like bad timing to me.

mass effect 2 is more of a cerberus story
