Seriously, the Cerberus-fanclub mad in this thread is just delicious.

How could you not see this coming?!

Oh, and I'm with AdmiralCheez, I seriously hope TIM's reasoning is trying to get in with the Reapers and take them out from the inside. How that will work I don't know, but by GOD it would be magnificent.

You don't have to be a Cerberus fanboy/girl to realise that Cerberus suddenly working with the reapers in ME3 is pretty cheap and silly.

But yeah I hope if TIM is indeed working with teh reapaz in ME3 then they should have a good reason for it and NOT one of the following:

- "We are doingz it becuz where EVAL!!!!!!:devil::devil:!!!!!!"
- "Reapers cannot be defeated, we need to cooperate to survive" (a.k.a re-hashed rip-off of Saren).

the only way i see it happening is that TIM gets indoctrinated.... TIM would never work with the reapers but if they could get to him, they would have the entire organization at their disposal as he is the defacto unquestioned leader....  he would never do the saren thing.. he isn't that naive

Lmao, if the illusive man is going to be indoctrinated, they might as well add Sharks with Lasers on Their Heads to the beastiary list. (a cookie if you get the reference)

Hmm, nice... I was sort of expecting BW to spring a few new Love Interests into the game, but I'm actually rather glad that they're only keeping  the LI from ME1 and ME2 (hopefully this means expanding on and further developing the relationships that you've established from previous games)

So Concussive Shot is no longer worthless? I'll take it. ^_^

Now this one's pretty interesting. I can only assume that:
A. TIM and Cerberus somehow became indoctrinated (Collector Base? Unknown Reaper tech?)
B. Cerberus were always working for the Reapers and were using Shepard for a purpose other than defeating the Collectors

I don’t understand people’s difficulty in seeing that Cerberus siding with the Reapers here is a list of possible reasons:

(1) It could be another rogue cell within Cerberus that is chasing Shepard, not the one that helped him/her in ME2.

(2) Illusive man could be fully indoctrinated since he is part host due to the rumours on the forum I haven’t read the comic book yet, though his condition could be progressive due to it or his constant exposure to Reaper technology.

(3) Cerberus could be infiltrated by people who are followers of the Reapers or indoctrinated since by the Reapers perspective Cerberus has been a thorn in their side.

(4) They could want the cipher in Shepard’s mind for some purpose?

Also complaining about ME2 being pointless isn’t the case due to several reasons: B)

(1) It sets the current state of the universe by our choices in the game.

(2) It adds more LI with new character and old from ME.

(3) It allows Shepard to be part cybernetic what this means in ME3 we will see.

(4) It shows us what the reapers plans to do to other species as we have seen with the Collectors and the incomplete Reaper.

(5) It shows a lot of background regarding Cerberus allowing you to understand them better.

(6) The “LotSB” DLC allows Liara access to the Shadow Brokers resources.

(7) The “Arrival” DLC sets the opening of ME3.

I am sure there is more but for the moment this is all I can recall of the top my head and having no LI in ME3 means they can add more complexity to the LI from ME & ME2.

So the magazine is out heres what I see so far (yes the scans are out there)

-Tali is confirmed squadmate
"Garrus, Liara, Kaidan, Ashley and (newly confirmed) Tali are all full
time members of your team if they survived the previous games."

**** F YEA!!!

-Wrex?
"I asked point blank about Wrex and got as close to a 'no' as I think Bioware will come at this early stage: exceutive producer Casey Hudson simply re-emphasised that such characters canplay a role and fight alongside you without necessarily being permanent squad members."

**** While I of course would have loved to have Wrex with me, I have faith that Bioware will do him justice.  They are well aware how popular he is.

-No new LIs in ME3

**** Good! Hopefully that means we can work on ddeveloping existing relationships further.

-Biotics are more potent in combat
"Biotics can use their Pull ability to rip a shield out of someone's hands" (I dont get this)

-Multi Layered combat areas

"The games combat spaces have graduated from the often-familiar open areas dotted with low walls.  They're now multi layed encouraging you to seek high ground for a better vantage point...[the rest is about Cerberus rocket boot dudes using this to their advantage]

-class Specific Melee attacks
Engineer: Omni-tool fire lash attack
Adept: Melee (biotic) attack that knocks everyone near them away and stuns

-Powers Evolve more than once
"In ME3 this is just the start. A Vanguard player can customise their devastating Charge move first to slam people harder, then do more damage, then to reduce the cooldown.

-Powers combine
Example given with Soldier: "Soldier still has an arcing attack called Concussive Shot, but it now behaves differently depending on the ammo ugrade he/she is using.  Cryo ammo lets you use that same trajectory to deliver a blast of ice that canfreeze every enemy in the area."

**** Cant wait for all this, sounda fantastic!

-Story is more like ME1 than ME2

**** Love it

-Places being visited (at least what the Magazine reports):
[...]mission takes you to the Salarian homeworld, the Quarian homeworld, the Asari homeworld, and the human homeworld - Earth.  You'll even go to Mars [...]

****Ive been dreaming to see these places since ME1.  Going to Mars just seems like icing on the cake.

-Every major character you have met will play a role in the last game

**** I couldnt ask for anything more then this.  Having everyone as a squadmate would just be ridiculous, but knowing that everyone will play a role somehow is comforting.

-Why is Cerberus after Shepard? They are working with the Reapers
"If your wondering why we were fighting Cerberus, having worked closely with this shadowy organisation in Mass Effect 2, the answer just raises further questions.  They are wokring with the Reapers"

**** Well, we all knew Cerberus was evil from the beginning, so i cant say im exactly surprised.  I think everyone needs to calm down tho until we kno the details on the situation.

-Reaperized enemies include Asari, Krogan, Rachni
"In Mass Effect 3 we'll fight the Reapers other experiments, with other species.
One is a hideously bloated pregnant Asari, her gums stripped away and a robot skeleton showing through her rotting flesh"

**** This is fantastic.  Things like this add a lot of spice and variety to the series and will draw forth new and different emotions from players of the series.  We already know that the Reapers tech often revolves around morbidly altering a species.  Now we get to see it in all its glory.  More reason to hate the Reapers and stop their diabolical acts.  Cant wait to see it in action.

"The Reapers take on the Rachni, who were already viscious insect  monsters, are covered with bulging savs of lesser creatures.  Rather than hitting their weak spot for massive damage, you want to avoid it like the plague: bursting any of these sacs before the creature is dead wit will unleash a swarm of horrible mini-rachni that crawl all over your body"

"The Reaperised Krogan wears heavy armor plates that can shear off with enough focused fire.  Once you do the creature changes its behaviour to be more defensive clutching its lurid blue intestines to its stomach as its lumbers towards you"

Casey Hudson summarizing ME3 (This is an article quote):
"Casey sums up Mass Effect 3 as being about victory through sacrifice, the scale of that sacrifice has been increasing with each new chapter" [Rest is authors speculation about saving(or not saving) Wrex and Rachni consequences]

**** This last quote is fantastic as well.  Knowning that there will be hard choices, there will be sacrifice and we will likely lose people/things close to us i wonderful.  The Reapers have been destroying civilizations for millions of years.  It would make no sense at all to not have a great deal of sacrifice while fighting them.

Everything ive heard here sounds fantastic for the game in my mind.  I dont understand what the problem is at all with some people.  Keep doing what you are doing Bioware!!  I have full faith in them when they say this will be the biggest and best ME we could all hope for.

-Tali is confirmed squadmate
SQUEEE! The whole gang's back toge--
-Wrex?
"I asked point blank about Wrex and got as close to a 'no' as I think Bioware will come at this early stage: exceutive producer Casey Hudson simply re-emphasised that such characters canplay a role and fight alongside you without necessarily being permanent squad members."
Image IPB
-No new LIs in ME3
On the one hand, we're up to five per gender (counting Liara once for each), so that's plenty. OTOH, for all that "ME3 is the perfect place to jump in," there will almost certainly be a significant lack of impact in starting a "romance" with the equivalent of flipping a switch in the opening comic. Hrm.
-Biotics are more potent in combat
"Biotics can use their Pull ability to rip a shield out of someone's hands"
YES! The Sentinel/Adept junkie is pleased.
-Multi Layered combat areas
"The games combat spaces have graduated from the often-familiar open areas dotted with low walls.  They're now multi layed encouraging you to seek high ground for a better vantage point...[the rest is about Cerberus rocket boot dudes using this to their advantage]
I'm much more about story (and cool powers; see Biotic squee, above), but I'm actually really liking this. "Take the high ground" is about as classic a tactic as there is, which makes this a welcome bit. I just hope some of the good guys get jetpacks too. (Adept anime-leap, anyone? Image IPB)
-class Specific Melee attacks
Engineer: Omni-tool fire lash attack
Adept: Melee (biotic) attack that knocks everyone near them away and stuns
I am now officially psyched for ME3. After seeing these, I can't wait to find out what the Sentinel gets...
-Powers Evolve more than once
"In ME3 this is just the start. A Vanguard player can customise their devastating Charge move first to slam people harder, then do more damage, then to reduce the cooldown.
As long as there are other branches besides these, excellent. I would just about explode from the awesome if you could reduce cooldown to functionally nothing.
Obligatory "let our powers combine" joke aside, this is great, great news. I'm really looking forward to seeing how biotic and tech powers do this.
-Story is more like ME1 than ME2
Pre-ordered. Image IPB (Well, okay, technically I'm going to wait until I see what the preorder deals are like, but for all intents and purposes my decision's been made.)
-Places being visited (at least what the Magazine reports):
[...]mission takes you to the Salarian homeworld, the Quarian homeworld, the Asari homeworld, and the human homeworld - Earth.  You'll even go to Mars [...]
Thessia confirmed? Boo-yah!
-Why is Cerberus after Shepard? They are working with the Reapers
"If your wondering why we were fighting Cerberus, having worked closely with this shadowy organisation in Mass Effect 2, the answer just raises further questions.  They are working with the Reapers"
Yeah, because Evolution totally wasn't setting that up. I just hope Renegades get to reclaim Cerberus. (As a Paragon, though...Hiro Shepard approves. Image IPB I am so looking forward to feeding Kai Leng and the Illusive Man Warp Ammo courtesy of Jack's loyalty.)
-Reaperized enemies include Asari, Krogan, Rachni <details snipped>
...ew.

...no, seriously, EWWW. Asari broodmothers? Image IPB Still, krogan Terminators = best mini-bosses ever.
Casey Hudson summarizing ME3 (This is an article quote):
"Casey sums up Mass Effect 3 as being about victory through sacrifice, the scale of that sacrifice has been increasing with each new chapter"
Well, I hope that Paragons can minimize how much others have to sacrifice, but all our base belong to the Reapers, so...yeah.Image IPB

^ Sounds like the zombie angle to me. <_< Don't make this into Left for Dead, Bioware.

The only details that really worry me are the frantic plot retcons from ME2 going into ME3. The whole Cerberus bit...yeah. Don't like it. But from a gameplay standpoint, everything is sounding great. They are adding even more variety to combat and character progression. Hell, combat was the star of ME2 imo.

Somewhere in the article is says that the game has become so massive, combat had become repetative and they had to mix things up to make it more varied and interesting.

I like the sound of that.

Pregnant Asari husk? roflmao... now let me guess, if you hit them in the head they die or try and cut some legs first, but don´t shoot the belly or its pinhata time.

TIM seems to be the new Saren, all hope is lost lets join the Reapers, this is making no sense but i´ll reserve opinions for later when we know what happened.

What's wrong with zombies? : (
I find it it entertaining that Bioware wants to spook their fans with the new husks, and on top of that the Reapers.

-Tali is confirmed squadmate

Well that’s another one back, hopefully they don’t forget about the ME2 characters.

-Wrex?
Good, don’t get me wrong I really like Wrex, he is one of my favs but he should not be more than a temporary squadmate. He has other things to do than follow you around. I just hope he actually has a prominent role.

No new LI in ME3

This gives me some hope that they are not just focusing on those jumping in at the last game.

-Biotics are more potent in combat

I assume this means shields as in a held shield for additional protection not the basic shield. Hopefully biotics aren’t OP. I hated them in ME1.

-Multi Layered combat areas
Ohhhh good. Hopefully they have extended the range of squad commands to go with it. I like the sound of combat so far tho still can’t judge it of words alone. Looking forward to seeing gamplay videos

-class Specific Melee attacks

interesting

-Powers Evolve more than once
Thankfully. I like ME2 but it was somewhat bare boned with the skills.

-Powers combine

excellent.

-Places being visited (at least what the Magazine reports):
Yay

-Every major character you have met will play a role in the last game

Yay?...dose role include brief cameos just saying they are doing something or are we talking a decent role? *a bit suspicious*

-Why is Cerberus after Shepard? They are working with the Reapers

So Cerberus is working with the reapers? Why? Exploiting the chaos to further their own goals I would get but working with them? Is the entire organisation indoctrinated or are they all so thick that they would actually believe deals made by the reapers? I'm not one of the people who ever thought Cerb was a good thing but I hope they are not going to be stupid evil. It’s much better when their motivations actually make sense. Not the end of the world tho. Hope this is false info *shrug*

-Reaperized enemies include Asari, Krogan, Rachni

Sounds a bit zombieish but husks were always essentially space zombies so thats not an issue. Glad to see them getting diversified. Rachni husk sounds brutal.

I do not fully trust this preview. Some of the thing come up in other previews and are therefore credible. Other thing like that there will be no new is seems very unlikely and is quite possibly a misunderstanding on behalf of the previewer. Since it is not like BioWare to release such information so early and no other previewer who was at the same event wrote about that.

One must always keep in mind that this preview occasion did consist mostly of a video presentation at BioWare HQ and a little QA with the developers later and only little if any hands on opportunity to try the game and even then it would be only a small segment like say the Isabela part of the DA2 demo. So you have to be careful before you accept any story spoiler as fact since it is unlikely that the previewer makes more than an educated guess from the fragments presented during the preview.

Every second post questions an organization working for the same species that produced a mass mind-control mechanism which later came in direct contact with given organization's leader. I mean, really, people? Ever since I read Evolution I figured Timmy got an indoctrination time-bomb burned in his brain, and this only clears supicions for me. And if you're here to argue about the lack of, hm, complexity in their motives, than that's already soil better left for Bioware to figure out themselves. Because, you know, it's them making the game. Having story arcs planned years in advance, all that.

If they don't bring the ME 2 crew back and basically make ME 3 into a remake of ME 1 . well they will catch hell from us ME 2 players .
