The fact that Casey Hudson has stated in his Game Informer interviews that Liara was taken away from the active party in ME2 in order to keep her alive for a vital role in ME3 is pretty telling.

I also have no issue with this whatsoever, for the record. I'm just saying. Tali can die; Liara can't. That's worth something.

Exactly. Its not blind favouritism towards certain characters or their fans, its just that some characters were deemd more important to the overall plot than others.

Also, will Liara being the Shadow Broker have a HUGE part in the story?

As she said, give her ten minutes, start a war.

I hope we get to blackmail governments.

Turians: We'll do whatever you want! Consider the Reapers dead!
Shepard: Ah, yes, Reapers...

And the "real human social interactions" can be summed up easily in one scenario?
Well if you read the email... the Virmire Survivor appologizes and basically says they overreacted.   Shepard was dead for two years they had time to move on with their life.      Shepard on the otherhand, it may only feel like weeks for him. Waking from a coma does some crazy things so Shep's feelings could still be very strong.    It wasn't two years for Shepard to get over them.                   I'd hate to meet your ex's if you cheat on them immedietly after a break-up   No second chances? No....I'll wait for you to come around?                Bioware is actually giving us two maybe three very different scenarios.       Liara was summed back up in Shadow Broker, apparently willing to rekindle the flame.      Ash and Kayden may be different. So far it seems they both needed more time to process everything.    Bioware is being pretty mature about it.... I mean they could have had them pull Shepard into a pre-fab for a survivor's guilt romp.

I'm sorry, but how exactly is it cheating if I break up with someone? Maybe moving to fast, but not cheating at all.

Great info.

About Cerberus...I'm with the positive thinkers. There could be multiple reasons why TIM sided with them...maybe he took a Saren approach, or maybe decided to Reaperfy humanity would be best (basically make all humanity live forever as a nearly invincible machine), or maybe he had to side with them to protect himself...I.E. protect himself from being killed by them.

He's manipulative and power-hungry, but I don't think he's arrogant or stupid. He knows very well what the Reapers are capable of and will probably have taken every precaution not to be indoctrinated (of course, Reapers being Reapers, even TIM's best precautions probably wouldn't be good enough).

I'm actually kind of glad Cerberus is working for the reapers. It will make the story much more complex and dramatic than Cerberus simply being after Shepard because he went "rogue" from them. (I mean, come on, TIM MUST have known there'd be the possibility of Shepard doing his own thing, and it doesn't make sense to me that Cerberus would try to destroy their most expensive and time-consuming project ever)

Agreed. I can't wait to see how this actually plays out.

I'm wondering whether Shepard will be provided with the opportunity to (in line which Cerberus's intentions) allow the Reapers to destroy the galaxy, basically in return for earth and humanity's salvation. Perhaps could be the alternate story path for renegades for whom some choices have been voided or rendered detractive from the paragon aim of saving the WHOLE galaxy.

Also provides a chance for humanity to truly become the ultimate dominant power, without competition of alien races.
It would be difficult to continue the universe though with a choice that massive.

That list essentially gets my, "woohoo!" stamp of approval. Cerberus working with the Reapers is hardly a mystery though. We all had assumed that to some degree almost immediately. Ironically, I had a whole plot development on the subject with the possible deaths of Garrus, EDI and as we confront a more antagonistic Reaper. This may turn out more accurate than anticipated.

Thank you Bioware for Tali & Garrus.
Now I can safely wait a whole year for ME3.

Too bad that once again I'll have to suffer with Liara, most characterless person in the story <_< IMHO.

If it has a bar, consider me on it. And if it involves raiding the Citadel with Reaper halloween costumes, consider me sold, and there better be some council scaring.

Personally I don't get the whole 'cheating' thing.

As far as I am aware, the behaviour from ash on Horizon was a girl dumping her boyfriend. One she hadn't seen in 2 years even. Moving on afterwards from that point isn't cheating.

Liara: Was dealt with already in Lair of the shadowbroker. They want to cook more soup on a dead bone or what?

Kaidan: No clue I admit. I never romanced him, and I always left him on Virmire. So he is in the open as far as I know, I guess.

This whole talk of 'cheating' sounds like pisspoor writing and lack of ability to relate to real human social interactions.

First off, if you broke up, you're not cheating. To return the favour of your hidden insult, I'll throw you the phrase of: I'd hate to meet your ex's if they run around harboring feelings of getting cheated on for stuff you did after you broke up with them.

Second, you said it yourself: Shepard died. How do you think that affects people? Especially when the first thing their girl-/Boy-friend tells them is basicly: "Get lost, creep!" ? It puts things in perspective, doesn't it? his/hers (I'm just gonna use 'he' from now, much shorter :P) supposed love tells him off like he's a bastard first time they meet, none of his fault, while people he hardly knows trusts him with their lives and follow him into almost certain death.

-People he barely knows shows more trust and willingness to talk with him than his previous love. :alien:
-They break up on Horizon.
-He's trying to deal with the fact that he actually died but somehow got resurected. :innocent:
-He's 'Commander Shepard'. He's the guy that takes decisions and acts on them, instead of sitting in a corner of his ship moping like a kid about how unfair life is. :crying:

And this you want to somehow combine into... 'If Shepard moves on after Horizon, he's cheating on his previous LI...'

Sorry. It doesn't compute.

And no, just because Ash realizes afterwards that she acted like a **** towards Shepard and she prob isn't going to find a better guy for her elsewhere, it doesn't mean that they are magically 'together' again. Shepard never even answered the mail, even, which normally means: "Tough luck cookie. You had your chance and wasted it."

Now, I'm not saying that Shepard and his previous LI can't find together again after he moved on with someone else. Stranger things have happened, after all. Doing so, however, would require Shepard to deal with his current LI, rather than the previous LI. Not to mention, that for some of us, it would be a snowballs chance in hell to happen, unless the previous LI seriously upped her game in regards to Shepard; while also admitting face to face that she was in error and still had feelings for him. Even so, I can imagine quite a few Shepards saying: "Tough. That's how the cookie crumbles."

Does it actually say Cerberus is working with the Reapers or are they just out to kill Shepard.   I can think of 3 reasons from ME2 alone why Cerberus could turn on us if you did the anti cerberus way of solving those quests though that would mean our choices mattered and that would be a first.  Aside from that I get such a kick out all you people who are so eager for any info about this game yet then get all upset that something was spoiled.

No new LI??? No Wrex or Joker romance then? I'm going to go sulk somewhere... One can still hope. Or maybe Bioware will finally decide to make a real connection after ME2 to develop the romances.

Holy crap...Reaper-Krogan/Reaper-Asari, special melee skills, a lot more thought put into the battlegrounds (I was already geeking out at the sound designer's vid on GI about beefing up the guns), and a ME1 level of story! I'm hyped up.

Now that BW's re-balancing the Biotics, I wonder if Engies will have more to do than just sending out combat drones?

I'm going to take the Fry approach to the news of no new love interests "You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless. You gotta hope even more, and cover your ears and go 'bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla!"
