Holy crap...Reaper-Krogan/Reaper-Asari, special melee skills, a lot more thought put into the battlegrounds (I was already geeking out at the sound designer's vid on GI about beefing up the guns), and a ME1 level of story! I'm hyped up.

Now that BW's re-balancing the Biotics, I wonder if Engies will have more to do than just sending out combat drones?

You can set up sentry guns now.

I don't know about heatsink dispensers or teleporters though.

... I'm sorry, but a lot of that sounds awful.

Cerberus working with the Reapers? After spending a whole second game going 'We must stop the Reapers, at any cost, so we brought you back from the dead Shepard." to "We must serve the Reapers so die (again) Shepard!"

As for the Reaperised enemies, they sound pretty bad. I want to play Mass Effect, not Left 4 Dead. Seeing an Asari made into something from Alien 4 does not sound appealing, on any level. Frankly, they seem to be making the science more and more akin to magic with every step, removing the originality of the story strip by strip.

aside from those points, I like the sounds of how the game mechanics are being refined. Having Shepard needing to step into his role as Commander to manage powers and positioning sounds like an important facet of combat from now, making it more important that you be on the ball as to team health, location and how many enemies you face at once.

And, if its true that there won;t be any new LIs, then that makes me hopeful that we'll see all the old ones return, so Shepard can complete his arc with them.

The Reapers have always been into body horror and they've always been shown to be a master of twisting and altering life forms to suit their needs. I mean

I think its COMPLETELY consistent with how the Husks have been portrayed.

I thought the asari 'husks' sounded more like DA:O broodmothers, tbh.

Ofc, with Arrival acting up as if the reapers are archdemons all of a sudden, I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise :-/

What's next? We find out that only people belonging to a specific group (which includes shepard, ofc) can deal the killing blow to reapers, or they will resurect?

See wouldn't the Reapers make use of the Asari's unique reproductive capabilities in Husk-ing them up? Its logical that they're alterations would either focus on their biotics or their reproduction system.

Also, here's hoping that better squad commands and AI come with the attention being paid to combat mechanics. I'll off myself if Miranda needlessly jumps on top of a crate one more time (or worse, a squadmate freezes in place while taking cover and doesn't respond until a cutscene or mission completed screen triggers).

Why are people going nuts about the Cerberus info?
Chris coming in here and saying we cant take everything PC Gamer said too literally, is pretty much a confirmation that they got that part wrong... I mean, that was what everyone was whining about before his post.

If I were to guess, PC gamer probably played the default setting of ME3, and it probably includes Cerberus going after you for destroying the Collector base. I do not think they are working for Reapers in any situation tough - give Bioware the benefit of doubt people!

The "asari reaper enemy" is not pregnant. She just has a little tummy.

I'm going to take the Fry approach to the news of no new love interests "You can't give up hope just because it's hopeless. You gotta hope even more, and cover your ears and go 'bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla!"

No new LI isn't a surprise. They already said that those faithfull to their ME 1 LI will be rewarded.

Tough call... there's a few at the moment... (It changes fairly regularly, as we push the creatures further to completion ).

One of them is the aforementioned "krogan reaper enemy" (I'm not sure if I can use their real names yet or not, so will refrain). He's pretty terrifying, big and scary.

The other is one that I don't think has been mentioned yet... but has a picture in the Game Informer article (one of the female Cerberus Enemies). From her picture, I'm sure you can probably get some ideas about her gameplay - she's really fun to fight (I swear a lot when trying to fight against her with some enemy combinations :pinched:).

Is she a "regular enemy" or some sort of boss like a unique character?

Cool. Can't wait to get a chance to see this myself.

Thank you Bioware for Garrus.
Now I can safely wait a whole year for ME3.

Too bad that once again I'll have to suffer with Tali and Liara, most characterless persons in the story <_< IMHO.

O and the HUD. You said you were working on it a month ago. Did you guys nail it or is it still WIP? Will we see it on E3?

One of the things we've tried to do is spread the enemies out, so some of them can be naturally harder (and are theoretically introduced further along in the game).

She's one of the most elite of the Cerberus enemies. So not really a unique enemy, and not a boss - though if you were to fight one of them early on in the game, I imagine that *could* feel a little like a mini-boss fight.

Our bosses tend to fall into another category entirely. You'll know our bosses when you see them.

heh, we'll probably be iterating on some aspects of it for a long time. That said, I think you'll probably see most of what we've been working on in the relatively near future - though I'm not totally clear on what we might be showing at any of the upcoming media events.

So do all charaters (squadmembers) have same kind of cover system? I mean I was thinking about it, how fast Shepard should be but then it hit me as I can't really imagine a krogan rolling, sliding and jumping over cover.

That scale, huh?

Well, as long as they don't turn into bullet sponges, we're cool.^_^

Also, I've heard that the squadmates will have individual AI. Does it mean they'll have unique behavior, or can they just use powers more efficiently depending on the character?

Yes, that's a female Cerberus enemy - not Miranda.

Not all enemies do, it depends a lot on the role they have in combat. Some enemies try to keep you pinned in cover - they may or may not use cover themselves. Other enemies try to push you out of cover, using various tactics (they generally don't use cover). Others have more indirect means of antagonising Shepard...

The "krogan reaper enemy" isn't really a cover taker... I'm not sure when we'll be showing him off, but it's pretty clear that he wouldn't be able to use cover effectively.

I know you probably can't say but I'll ask anyway is she in the game?
