Methinks you're seeing what you want to see.

He can say its not a punishment all he wants to . But unless Paragon players have a effect added to their choices it is a punishment .

Sure, but you're assuming this to be the case, hence jumping the gun.

ExtremeOne, it really seems like you want paragon players to suffer and renegade players to win at everything with no consequences. Which is silly. Especially since Hudson just said renegade players are just going to get a different scenario that will be more difficult at some places.

Which will most likely also apply to paragon players.

I hope it does apply to paragons as well .  I do not want renegade players to win at everything . What I want is for paragon choices to have the same effects as renegade choices . If paragon players destroy the base then there should be some disadvantages to that .  I want to see paragons suffere for some bad choices as well .

I don't know how that reaper/cerberus thing makes any sense unless... The Elusive Man is following Saren's logic. That would be sad.

It could just be another Cerberus cell going rogue/bonkers, believing supporting humanity is a lost cause and decided to join the Reapers.

If that is true then Bioware is basically retlling ME 1's story in ME 3

I hope this is the case. Illusive Man is too classy and cool to let himself be indoctrinated, and especially too cool to go down a Saren route; he desserves a little more justice than that when creating the plot.

I mean he's the Dos Equis of the ME universe! If a man like that succumbs so easily to the Reapers than Bioware might as well turn him into Dr. Evil...

No new Love Interest? Well, sucks to all those that hated the ME1 and ME2 Love Interests. Guess Bioware didn't care for the ME3 only crowd in that department.

Then again, Gianna and Shiana, though not LIs, did express interest in becoming LIs.

I hope BioWare is just technically saying, "There's no new person you can romance".

Because I would kick Miranda to the curb if Gianna comes whistling. :D

It's true... In Mass Effect (Videogames in general actually) doing good all the time is just as easy as doing ill. People are never asked to give up anything to do good, except for the occasional "give me 1000 Credits fom the 200.000 you have" or "give me one clip of ammo that you can pick upa gain frm the next enemy you drop".
There are also some other problems. Doing good things doesn't always pay off, especially immediatly after you did them. Most of the time you get nothing except for peoples gratitude. Sometimes it pays off to do good things in the long run though. Mass Effect has quite a lot of potential for this when it comes to big decisions like saving or killing the council, the Rachni decision, the collector base, etc. (Things like the collector base might as well backfire though)

Those who behave like bullies however are the ones who get the immediate "rewards" for what they do (If you threaten to kill someone unless they pay you 100.000 Credits they won't wait a month until they transfer the money) Doing ill like that can come back to bite you in the long run though. You might meet the people you threatened in a situation where you life depends on them, or another situation where they'd be of great use if you had left the 100.000 Credits to them because they may have built something great.

In Mass Effect however it is more like this: It doesn't matter what you do you get basically the same outcome for every decision when it comes to the reward. Either people give it to you because they are thankful or you take it from them because you killed them. If ME2 is any indicator for what's to comein ME3, then Renegades are at a disadvantage though. In the end they get less content for killing people where Pragons get moe quests, mroe rewards, etc.

With that system Paragons get rewarded twice and renegades get rewarded only once and that is pretty much the reason for topics likes this. It'd be more realistic if Renegades would get the short term rewards most of the time and paragons would get the long term reward most of the time.

That way the system would get more realistic. People would get tired of helping every NPC all the time (like they would in real live) and pick more advantageous options for themselves, but might regret it in the long run
(BUT NOT ALWAYS. Not everyone you help is a good person, and  not everyone you threaten has something of  use he or she could give you. You just have to keep it balanced)

I could go into more details, but you get the idea I guess so let's not turn this into an even bigger wall of text than it already is.
