when you create a new item, instead of accepting the default location for the file just under the resource name type in a new folder name and it will be created for you.

Unless I missed something, the only way to "create" new folders is to move resources. You take your resource in \\What\\, edit the properties to move it to \\What\\Ever\\, and if necessary the whole path is created upon validation.

// Edit : Yep, creating a new resource works as well. The important part is using the res properties panel.

One problem I have with place resources in folders was scripts that referenced them couldn't see them unless they are at the same level.
However this could just mean that resource declarations in scripts need to be qualified eg
Const resource MY_RESOURCE = R"item.utp";
would become
Const resource MY_RESOURCE = R"folder\\\\\\\\item.utp"; (note if strings are processed like c++ it needs the \\\\\\\\ as a single \\\\ is an escape character)

Edit: to clarify as the forums seems to double the number of \\'s you would need to use 2 backslashes and not a single backslah

That backslash forum problem is beyond irritating. Some guidance on this issue would be nice, as in 'Is there any blinking way we can avoid this by doing something in our posts?!!!!'
