I just wanted to know if I can play my mass effect pc version with a ps3 controller(or a xbox controller) on my pc.if so i'd like to know what steps i should follow.

Use the search function, either on these forums, or using google. ME2 (PC) doesnt natively support controllers. Smoenoe has a workaround somewher on these forums, but I'm not going to do your searching for you.
