Bioware lies to us again: Mass Effect 3 isn't even out yet and Bioware has already failed to deliver on one of their promises.

Then why hasn't Chris P. or anyone from Bioware came out and officialy deny this information as false?

Ummm.... because they've said they wouldn't spoil anything?  The exact thing that you're accusing (without good reason) them of doing.

You realize that if they confirm or deny anything, that's spoiling the story, right?  So unless they confirm or deny something, all it is is RAMPANT SPECULATION.

So you wanting them to confirm or deny something would actually be completely against what you are complaining about and accusing them of.

Don't try confusing this with sound logic.

Man, I leave the forums yesterday; everyone seems O.K. with the delay, a few talking heads, but no more than usual. Come back today; tons of vitriolic threads. Oh how swiftly the breeze doth change.

As for the OP. I feel you, but you really should have seen this coming. I know I did. It's just the nature of the beast. And you can say "But Bioware promised--!", and you would be right. They did promise.

But that's just it-- it was a promise. Not a vow and certainly not some covenant with the fans. It was a promise that was more than likely going to be broken before the release.

Majestic, point taken but we aren't going to go on a witch hunt. Most of the people on the forum are recovering from your last witch hunt. I will admit the editor may have let the cat out of the bag but we will have to wait and see. In the last six months I have heard every plot idea possible on this very forum. I hate to say it but my own ideals range from likely to impossible, either way it's the execution that will make a plot good or not, not how predictable it was or whether it was spoiled.

Should Bioware avoid promises? Yes.
Did they lie to you? Maybe. There is always two sides to every story.

The game looks amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I expect a whole lot more in the story in the high concept that will make sweeping changes to the universe there is still plenty to uncover.

It troubles me to see the loyal fans like yourself be so angry so it may be best if you avoid the coverage of the game until release.

In boxing you always fake with the right and strike with the left that is the nature of a good plot we will have to wait and see.

Wow, this is just getting ridiculous. We do not KNOW yet whether this is completely true or false! If you don't want to see spoilers, then avoid threads that are clearly labeled (SPOILERS). Pure and simple. I can understand if someone might see an issue regarding the recent PC gamer article, but please don't come barging in and whining like a little baby saying, "Bioware has LIED TO US!!! WAH!!! WAH!!!"

See, here's the thing. Bioware technically hasn't spoiled anything. All they did was invite magazines in for a little preview of the game, and answer some offhand questions. What they wrote about the game, besides being largely inferred (correctly or incorrectly), is completely out of Biowares hands.

Now, I would question why anyone would read articles about a game knowing they don't want to know anything about it or the plot until the day it launches.  WHY? Why go to threads where people are talking about it? Even assuming some of the titles spoil it for you, you don't actually know if it's just some guy spouting nonsense or not, unless you open it to see the reaction. Magaizines have every desire and need to reveal as much information as
possible, to prove to their audience your subscription is worth it,
because they get allt he juicy dirt. They WILL compete to see who can get and preview the most information.

No one should have to hide spoilers from anybody. It's pretty easy to self-police yourself.

Other than that, I'm more interested in the implementation of what they announce, not in being surprised about it. Being implemented in an exciting way gets me worked up in the exact same way whether it's a surprise or it isn't. Because every single story line they could ever think up has been done, somewhere, by someone already. But they always implement them in exciting ways to make them distinctly Bioware in nature.

Also in ME2, Ashley (not sure about kaiden) said that Cerberus could be working for the Reapers. Bioware could have just as said it as a joke.

I’m pretty sure the line was that Cerberus could be working with the Collectors and using the threat of the Reapers to manipulate Shep.

Didn't read every post in this forum, but I just have this to say : If you don't want spoilers, don't lookup ME3 scans, magazine articles, etc.
Use some common sense and a bit of self discipline instead of blaming others for your failings, then whining online.

Chris P said: While there is indeed an article in PC Gamer, keep in mind unless the article says "Casey Hudson said..." or similar, what they are writing is their take on the information they have seen (this applies to ALL media/magazines/websites, etc). Don't get too worked up on any one item until you hear it confirmed by BioWare someplace.

So on that note... dont take any of this info as PURE FACT.

well then by that logic half the sh*t in the GI article does nort have Casey Hudson said so all up in the article . They had to be supplying these mags with the info or EA would have never allowed these mags to run false stories on ME 3 .
