Even when I knew ME3 was coming out...I thought it would be Portal 2. I don't care what people say...the game is amazing.

However...I think The Witcher 2 could pull of a sneak attack and blow people away.

since it was announced last year, it's been pretty obvious that skyrim was going to sweep most of the 2011 GOTY awards

RPG of the year will probably come down to Witcher 2 and Skyrim. As for GotY, I think it's gonna be close between Portal 2 and Skyrim.
Who knows what happens in the other categories, but in the end I don't think the awards are that important, for me as a player, I mean. I often disagree with who gets the awards, partly because I didn't play some of the games and partly, because they just aren't my type of games at all and of course, because I have a different taste than others.
For the developers they are quite imporant, though. We'll see, it's still a long time until I'm gonna think about which games would get the awards from me^^

I am really hoping that Human Revolution can deliver the goods but at the moment I am uncertain that it will even be in the running for GOTY.

Judging from what I have seen so far Portal 2 seems to be pretty a strong competitor and at the moment my money is on it taking GOTY (at least out of the games that have been released so far), sure a lot of it was more of the same but still there is no way you cant fall in love with that game.

Wither 2 is a PC only title so it as GOTY...hahahaha, and I've seen pigs fly.

It will be something that sells alot and recives great reviews, Skyrim I think will get it in terms of RPG unless they REALLY suck. But in terms of overall it has to be Say Gears 3, Kill Zone Three, or something like that.

Though I would like to See Duke Nukem get shooter of the year or any sort of GOTY award.

Course we have alot of games coming out they may prove to blow the others out of the water such as Dead Island, (This one Russian underwater shooter don't remember the name atm) and hell maybe even Saints Row 3 depending on its marketing and getting out of the hood rat catagory.

From what's been released so far, Portal 2 is in the lead. Some of the games yet to come may dethrone it.

Best game on PC I hope it'll be The Witcher 2, on PS3 I can easily see Uncharted 3 and on Xbox 360 maybe Skyrim (I don't see Gears 3 as a strong contender). Overall I don't know, the safest bet is probably Skyrim (maybe Portal 2, but sandbox games are usually better received).
But there are a lot of other promising games this year, so we'll see.

As my personal GOTY though I'm looking at these games: DA2, The Witcher 2, Deux Ex, Dungeon Siege 3, AC: Revelations and Skyrim.

LA Noire looks more like a boring graphic novel with occasional third person shooter gallery intervals.

I think the game of the year will probably be Portal 2

Last time I checked, there is not one GOTY award. There are dozens of websites and magazines that announce their own "GOTY" and game publishers like to make a big deal out of it for re-promotes at retail stores, even if the game only got one of the many "GOTY"
