Skyrim will be, it would have been even with ME3 released this year I guess.

I am hoping for Deus Ex though. May it be better than the first... hell, that'd mean automatically it's the best game of the world

Without licensing a new game engine, i bet Bioware is out of the competition for any newer RPG title.. Of course my opinion though.

Skyrim is the most likely candidate for awards. Being a major developer makes a difference with recognition. Both Deus Ex and TW2 will appeal to a much smaller fanbase and are made by lesser known developers. But for me, its those three games that have the most potential this year.

I really hope so. Everything I have seen so far is all about combat. Where's the stealth! I haven't seen anything lately so I hope I'm just paranoid.

Anyone whose been paying attention would know that its not just GTA set in the 40s.  Its a dective story with emphasis on real life events of the time.  Attention to detail and a much more serious style.
Or did you think RDR was just GTA with horses?

From a gameplay point of view yes it was, very much so. What I am asking is from a gameplay perspective what sets L.A Noire apart from GTA? Because apart from the fact that there were no cars (well at least not any controlable cars anyway) the controls and mission structure in RDR was almost an exact replica of what we saw in GTA4.

From what I understand, Skyrim and ME3 (even if it wasnt delayed) would not be able to qualify for the GJA in 2011 expect for the "Most Anticipated Game for 2012" award...I've rendered this thread usless, oh silly me.

Deus Ex:HR has my vote.

I have a feeling Uncharted 3 won't be as good as its predecessor. I think Skyrim and Portal 2 will be sweeping the awards.

Although, hopefully MK gets a few. Great UE3 graphics, great gameplay, great storyline, vast amount of content, and potential DLC down the road.

I am sorry if you felt that your intelligence was insulted as that was not my intent. If you diddnt understand the story then you diddnt understand it, I cant fault you for that. Its not your fault the story went over your head.

As for Red Dead Redemption I wasnt trying to imply that the game was somehow bad as I actually enjoyed the game, all I was saying was that from a gameplay point of view the game plays very much like GTA4 and so far from what I have seen and heard of LA Noire I assume that it will be very much the same.

Depends though, if the dumbing down isn't going over the limit. Lots of people still have a sour taste in their mouth from DA2, and that could hurt Skyrim. But they are also using a new engine, and they are using lots of perks, which cater to the RPG crowd. I guess we just have to hope for the best.

Personally I want it to be Skyrim, however I think that Deus Ex could snatch it depending on its reception. Although, even though I'm not a pc gamer and therefore wont be getting it, I think TW2 deserve it just so its devs get some recognition because from what I've heard and seen it seems like they deserve it.

Why would that hurt Skyrim? Dragon Age and BioWare don't have anything to do with Skyrim.
