Yes I read the topic.
The old site doesn't ley you register right now.
error code 102

I am guessing the old site got overloaded due to the $5 steam sale.   Unless there is a 2nd cd key that I can't find.
The one that steam gives is the same listed under the games configure menu and it does not work to register.

Take it up with EA support, nothing can be done for you on these forums.

I also just bought Mass Effect 1 through Steam and I cannot register ME1 on http://accounts.biow...mepc_cdkey.html, when I enter my CD key it gives me an error that says: "Error Code 102: Unable to verify CD Key as entered, please check key and try again."

What do I do?

I want to be able to register to get the DLC.

The Steam CD key is missing the dashes. After every 4 characters, enter a dash and you will be able to register Mass Effect. Otherwise, the site won't recognize the CD key as valid.

yep dashes dont do anything.
I had a chat with EA support last night (8 hours ago) and they said it:
Will: I've checked your issue and found out that it is a temporary issue and it will be resolve as soon as possible, might be within 2-4 hours.
Will: So, please try after some time.
Will: Your issue will be fixed.

EA support ****ing sucks. I still hate BIoWare for selling themselves to EA.

Cracktivision and Eccentric ****s are not meant to be trusted kiddies.

Same:

•Error Code 102: Unable to verify CD Key as entered, please check key and try again.

I've been trying since last night so I doubt it will be fixed in 2-4 hours. I did run ME first, like Steam said. Maybe I need to start a game?

I tried dashes and spaces.  Spaces change the error to 101, but that's not helpful.

As I said, its an EA issue, take it up with them. These forums are user to user support forums, and as such, theres nothing that we can do to help.

Well EA was good enough to tell me that it was Steams problem:

"Erin: I would request you to please get in touch with steam in this regards."

I've e-mailed Steam. We'll see what happens.

EDIT:  Reading Steam's support pages it does say to contact them if a game doesn't register.

That's very interesting, since that is how I got my game from Steam registered yesterday afternoon. I kept getting the error until I did that. Something must have happened to the server after I registered, or I just got lucky. I'm sorry my solution isn't working for you.

Just an update. Support by e-mail:

EA support asked for more information but no help yet.

Steam support is not responding at all.

Ok. I got an e-mail back from EA. They sent me a link to a exe file and a new CD code to install the DLC. It worked. Thank you EA.

Still haven't heard a word from Steam.

Just got off chat with EA.

They gave me a product key to install the BDtS dlc. Still can't actually register my game, but whatever.

Do you have to register a new account at the old bioware site? I used my log in name and password for here, and it says invalid log in name/password.

Yeah you have to have a login at the old site in addition to this one. Yeah, it is dumb.

Having an issue where I can't register ME1 and therefore can't get a key for BDtS...
was on the phone with EA for close to twenty minutes. They couldn't figure it out and said it was a problem with Bioware....WTF! The support guy gave me a code for BDtS, it didn't work, and then one of his supervisors came on to tell me they couldn't do anything from their end. Bioware support, if you're reading this, HELP!!

There is no Bioware support. These are user to user support forums. You need to speak with EA support. If they cant help you, try again and hope you dont get a muppet of a support rep.

There is a thread stickied at the top of this forum that tells you the exact same thing.

It's really rather silly, but you do have to go to support.ea.com and chat or telephone a support representative. They will assign you a manual key for Burning Down the Sky.
