OK, here goes again:

A link to a video with my problem, please take note of the popping sound and jumping graphics. (The frame rate of that video on youtube isn't as good as my one)

I have a:
C2D E6600 running at 3.2 ghz (Overclocked. NB: reducing the speed doesn't get rid of this issue)
Geforce GTX460
Onboard Realtek Sound
Windows 7 64 bit
5 GB RAM

I get these weird problems as shown in the video, and I can't get rid of them. The jumping graphics also differ in their severity when I play.. sometimes it's good, sometimes its so bad I can't play.

Any help?

While personally, I can't claim to know what is causing the symptom, you aren't helping yourself by skipping the majority of what Pacifien asked for in the "How to Report" stickie.

Just in the hardware part you left a lot out.

Basic Hardware Specification Chart

Video Card Driver Version: Catalyst ?.? / Nforce ??.??
. . (please use the numbers, and dates, *not* the word "latest")
Video Card onboard RAM: ? ? ? MBs
Sound Card driver information

P. S.  Please use every day business style paragraph breaks, punctuation, and spelling.

Intel® Core™2 CPU          6600  @ 2.40GHz Running @ 3235 MHz

RAM: 5GB

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460,  Driver Version: 270.61 (current as of April 2011) VRAM: 1GB

Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio), Driver Version: 6.0.1.6343

Windows: Microsoft Windows 7  64 bit SP1
Direct X: DirectX 9.0c (Mar2009) or later

GAME DETAILS:

Mass Effect 2.exe v1.02
Launcher v1.01
Config v1.03

DLC: Hammerhead, Kasumi, Zaeed, Cerberus, DA armour, Normandy Crash Site.

The problem that exists: Sound is popping and Crackling (see the video link) and there is graphical/screen flicker while playing the game with differing severity. This problem only started when the Cerberus network became unavailable.

Reproducing the problem: N/A Exists from start up and is present throughout the entire game (please see the video in the above post)

I would appreciate any help here as I seem unable to get around this!

If you are using the default Win7 audio driver, thats known to cause the cracking/popping effect (51 page topic on it in Win7 forums). The latest drivers from Realtek (R2.6) have varying degres of success in cutting it down, or removing it altogether.

Not sure if it will help with the flickering as displayed on the galaxy map though. If it doesnt solve that issue as well, try some older video drivers as well, as the latest drivers are often tweaked for newer games, and older games like ME2 can sometimes suffer for it.

I'll give it a shot but I'm actually using realtek r2.6. The graphical flicker isn't just in the galaxy map though! :)
