No, the ending was followed however, by a torrent of vitriol and foul language, regarding a half arsed game that was obviously kick out the door early and bemuesment as to why so much of DA O had been removed and replaced with... this... thing.
ditto
well put

There were companions and characters I really liked and thought were well done. But no, I didn't have the same reactions as I did in DA:O. I had a number of WTF moments and I was genuinely pissed off that there was no way to change the course of Anders' actions no matter what standing he had with your character.
I wasn't angry, but in the end though, I was disappointed with the game and just relieved to finish it.

What exactly does Da:rtp stand for? I'm guessing it's similar to the popular renaming of FO:BOS to FO:POS on the NMA forums.
its stands for Dragon Age: Rise To Power is better than having a unworthy "2" at the end of Dragon Age 2 <_<

Bethesda forums has taken to call it The Burned Game (after "the Burned Man"). That's more classy

I cried tears of rage.
Oh that's nothing! I lazer burned my first copy of the CD and so I had to buy a new one! I spent 120 dollars on this mediocre game. I am BEYOND tears. <_<
Did I shed tears? No. If anything I SHOULD'VE shed tears over how OOC they made Anders. Now if this happens next game with Nathaniel all hell is breaking loose.

Nope, I did not cry. The only game ever to make me sad was Suikoden when that guy sacrifices himself to save the hero.
Suikoden, great series imho though I only played 1 to 4. ~just saying~

It was Fenris that got to me. Poor guy. No matter what I did, his pain would not ease. This not being a spoilers thread, I will shut up now, but he did something terrible and then, despite being a rivalry romance, I couldn't keep him "on side" at the end, the result of which was horrifying. I fought the entire last battle wiping my eyes with a tissue.
I have to say, I love the fact that your choices in DAII are often met with refusal/failure/illusion etc. It is realistic and evocative. The end of the Shepherding Wolves quest saw me yelling "Nooooo" at the screen. (In a good way.)

As for the ending, nope. The closest I got to any kind of emotional reaction in the end was Fenris's romance speech and the reunion with Warden Carver and his little conversation with Hawke before the final battle. And still, no tears, just the overwhelming desire to have the option to give out hugs in DA2

Why the **** would I? The best part of the game was act 2. The ending of act 3 was atrocious. The whole act was too short, and the way Orsino goes, oh by the way I can turn into a u know what, just casually like, made me throw my mouse away in disgust.

Didn't at All that Remains...since I didn't feel all that connected to the parental unit.
Got a little misty eyed with Carver and the deep roads. Touching bonding moment.
Got a little heart-jerk when my happy-go lucky help everyone, life is a bunch of roses rogue in a friendmance with Anders...made a terrible choice. (Although IRL I laughed like a maniac after the initial *that hurt!*)
Felt a little heart-hurt playing through the convo options with Denarius and Fenris....that look of absolute crushing no-hope! *ouch*
Felt absolute RELIEF after the Arishok.....really...Act 3 was a let down compared to that....
But compared to all the times in DA:O I cried, I hollered at the characters, and laughed and actually stood up and cheered (Okay the standing up and cheering was after a 48+ hr no-sleep playthrough when I finally got to the end and FINALLY was able to make the final blow.....okay, now that I think about it, the copious tears at my funeral scene were also probably related to lack of sleep)....
DA2 was not as emotionally gripping.

Saying farewell to each of your companions one by one before the Denerim final chapter was a powerful moment - a an immense credit to the writing and build-up. Almost got my handkerchief out the first time. Now after DA2, I know this is indeed the final farewell to all of them. So I had to shed some tears. (now completely not interested in subsequent cameos by some emo-Morrigan with gigantic boobs and an equally overdone lyrium habit in DA7).
