Throw is underrated.....

Using squad powers and weapons to strip defences leaves you free to use pull/throw most of the time, and it certainly makes for a more fast paced experience.

oh yeah, warp bombing is easily more effective. but pull + throw is just too much fun not to do.mcsupersport wrote...
If I have 3-4 people floating I personally would rather blow them up with a Warp Bomb, because they all take double damage, unless you are talking about throwing them off to their deaths. I also rarely get more than 1-2 guys floating on higher level difficulties. Heavy throw damages shields, barriers and armor more than area, staggers well and has a quick cooldown, so that is what I used last time and loved it. I even learned how to arc low on Garrus' recruitment mission on the bridge to launch guys off the bridge without having to pull, just a nice low curving arc and BOOM, off the bridge they go.
set em up and knock them out of the park!
also a big fan of pull + slam.

The thing that's keeping me from using Throw is how rarely I need it. If there's one guy already floating around and nobody's nearby so Warp's not worth using, then I can save a few seconds of cooldown time. But we're talking a lot of points for this marginal use.
I'm in the mood to give it a try though. Have an adept playthrough that's not quite done yet. I'd rather find a way to get something out of Throw than just declare it useless. Just haven't done so yet.
It's worth noting that (Heavy) Throw can kill all enemies who are down to health. Enemy vanguards, engineers, centurions, legionaries, krogan, pyros etc cannot be killed with one warp explosion (2-3 are required) but a well aimed Throw can kill them regardless how many hitpoints they've got left. The key is aiming, when you can easily throw around enemies where you want em to, Throw - heavy in particular coz its a lot more powerful even without ragdoll bonus - can be deadly.
You don't need Throw, but you also won't need Warp when you're playing Adept. You can specialize in almost every power if you really want to. Even Shockwave can be deadly if you focus your gameplay around it. Try using Heavy Throw instead of Warp for a while and see if it works for you too.
Squadmate Warp is perhaps 'better' coz it's instant, but arcing is required to make the most out of Throw (something not possible with the squad version). You can Warpbomb and Throw your way through without using Shep's Warp (at all) - this can't be done the other way round.
