I'm going away for the weekend and was hoping to play my newly installed Origins Ultimate Edition on my computer while there.

Problem is, there is no internet, and as I have discovered, since UE includes all the DLC, it will NOT allow me to load my saved games while not connected to the internet. Is there no way around this?

Actually, once you've authorized your DLC (*once*) by connecting online, you should be able to play offline thereafter.  That's how I do it.

Load the game, log in and make sure you're DLC is authorized.  Log out and *disable the autologin function*.  When you exit the game, reboot, and load the game again, your content should still be authorized.

If it's not, then post back, and we can troubleshoot.

I've tried that. When I try to load the saved game I get this message:

"This saved game includes BioWare premium content. To load this saved game, an owner of the following premium content must log in: <insert list of every DLC ever>"

I can start a new game over again, but with none of the DLC content, and I can't access previous saved games.

So after talking to support services, the answer, is in fact NO. Not with DLC anyway. THis is dumb, really dumb. I already have all this content on my XBOX360 and can access it there Internet Connection or no. The only reason I bought the Ultimate Edition for PC was so I could bring it withme when I go to look after a familymembers farm .... where there is no internet.

Thanks ...

I am sorry they gave you that answer... It's just incorrect.  I and many others play logged out.  The dev's have confirmed that is the case in some of the posts pinned to the top of the forum.  If your installation of Dragon Age is not doing this, then it's possible there is an error... a few folks have encountered an issue where their CD key is not properly recorded in their Windows registry.

To check... on the game's launch screen, select "Configure" and then "Game" from the menu on the left.  You should see the product key displayed on the screen.  If you don't, consult this post from Kloreep for a solution:

Okay, the CD Key is not showing in the Configuration. I tried to reply to that thread but it wouldnt let me (dunno why). Here was the instructions I found:

1) Launch Impulse
2) Right-click the DA:O game
3) Select "View Registration"
4) click "Copy serial to clipboard"
5) Go to start menu and type "regedit" and hit return
6) navigate to (or search for): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age\\ergc
7) In the right hand pane, double-click "(Default)" to open the entry field
8) Hit Shift + Insert (quick-paste the clipboard) then click "Okay"
9) Close registry
10) relaunch the game launcher and go into the Configuration to verify it shows your cd key in the "Game" section and references DA:O
11) Launch the game and log in
12) Verify the DLC is now authorized
13) Log out and recheck to make sure it is still authorized
14) Exit game completely, then relaunch
15) Make sure you are still logged out and check the DLS page again to make sure it is still authorized.
16) Congratulations...you should be set.

Now, I didn't use Impulse, I downloaded through the EADownloadManager. But I have the License Key and I amnot sure if that is the same thing so I tried manually putting it in the Registry Editor but it didn't seem to work. It is still showing blank.

I have EADM, too. Let me dive into my PC's registry and I'll see. Be back in a few.

Okay... I checked my installation... I have the CD key listed under both these locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age\\ergc

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Electronic Arts\\Dragon Age - Ultimate Edition\\ergc

To change it, make sure you're Windows account has admin access and that the game is NOT running. For each registry key, when you right click on (Default), select "Modify". Enter the license WITHOUT hyphens... just as one long string of letters and numbers. Make sure you're using the license key and not the promo key for your DLC.

Save and reboot, then try the game logged out. Remember you need to have the DLC authorized before you log out. Also, you do not have to run the EADM itself at startup... I suggest disabling that "Start at Windows" function.

In my regedit, I only have the Dragon Age Ultimate Edition folder. I don't have just a Dragon Age folder. Might that be the problem?

Even after the regedit, the CD Key and Product name are both still missing in the COnfiguration Utility

I suppose you could try to add it-- that's totally up to you.  We're reaching the end of my experience on this.

One other thing... in the registry editor, if you RIGHT-click on Dragon Age Origins - Ultimate Edition and select "Permissions"... do both SYSTEM and Administrator have both "Full Control" and "Read" checked in the Allow column?

Edit: Also, did you reboot?

Maybe first try this:

Kloreep wrote...

Here's an explanation of the CDkey, for anyone else who may have the same problem:

First of all, I discovered another misbehaving registry key thanks to this post:
in BiowareDragon Age, located somewhere under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Path
was incorrect. (In a very strange way, too: It had chosen the wrong
drive and chopped off the end of the name, producing "d:gamesDragon Age
Ult" when the correct path was "C:gamesDragon Age Ultimate") Although
regedit refused to let me edit the key as that post suggests, simply
running the DAOConfig program as an administrator and telling it to
"save settings" fixed this key for me.

Rebooted, verified permissions. Still not working. Maybe it was somethign added to the more recent downloads of the game? The support people seemed really adamant that it was not possible to use the premium content while not connected to the internet under anycircumstances, probably with an ever or two thrown in.

Also, Im the only user on the computer so I am always administrator. Tried save settings as well. Nothing I do seems to populate that Product Key in the Configuration Utility.

No. I just disabled my network adapter card, rebooted, and tested the game with all DLC intact. There's something else going on here... and I hate to say it, but whomever you talked to via tech support was blowing smoke. Actually, it's a common misconception.

Did you try the method above that I directly quoted from Kloreep?

The only other thing I can think of is to uninstall, clean out the registry, and try again.  That's probably not practical if you're travelling this weekend... unless you had EADM save the installation file.  Even then, it wouldn't hurt to move that backup file, uninstall and sweep out EADM, and reinstall that, too.  And run everything using the right click/Run as Admin function just in case.  Adding... no guarantees that will work.

I did send personal messages to some of the developers about your situation, but I am not sure what they can do.  Also, since it is a weekend, they might not get back for a while.

Hmm.... sorry you're experiencing this.  Wish I could literally wave a wand and fix this.

I think so, though its a little confusing. I ran the Config and saved settings. Was it saying to do more than that?

Go into Program File/Dragon Age/bin_ship and run the configuration tool "As an administrator" straight from the EXE file... then save and reboot when you're done.

Ahhh, I see, right click, then click on Run as Administrator, never saw that before. Should it show the product key when I do that?

In theory.  Run the configuration program, do the "Save settings", and exit.  Run it again and see if its there.  I am just going by what others have posted, mind you.  Never encountered this m'self.
