Dont you guys?

We allow drow starting the 15th but drow start in the Underdark city of Menopause or whatever that damn city is called....

And you want to be good sure...but know that every city is still going to be out for your ears so be prepared to be good on the run, lol...

Playing Drow properly in the FR setting is almost impossible unless:

a) It's an all-Drow server.
B) The individual behind the PC is extremely dedicated to preserving the concept of a Drow above-ground.

All in all, a situation involving Drow typically requires significant DM presence to ensure they are setting-appropriate.

Oh we do yeah. I suspect Jen might be looking for other servers for inspiration and seeing how they run it for ideas how to organize our own more and improve it. Just a guess though. :)

Arelith in the rp section has an Underdark server. From what I understand, the drow players there are quite knowledgeable about the lore. However, Arelith General (Surface, Cordor and Underdark) does not allow for good drow, as they're an anomaly.(And damn well should be, bloody Salvatore making Ellistrae popular.)

Forgotten Realms-The North has a full Underdark supporting Drow characters. There are dedicated DM's that 'guide' the Drow society. All Drow start in Menzoborranzan (There you go TSM Dude).

As for "Good" Drow, we allow such a thing with staff approval. Proven RP'ers may get approval to run such a character with the knowledge that they still have to start in Menzo with the scrutiny of the evil drow always about, make their own way to the surface (no easy task) and then still have to deal with the predjudices of the surface peoples. We had one character a long time ago that successfully hid his identity via disguises for a very long time. He wasn't good, just neutral.

A non-good Drow never "Has to" leave the underdark as the UD is fairly self sufficient.

In your setting it should not be as diffucult I would think being more Planescape?

In ours we do allow good drow but like I said all drow start in that city that Eagle posted as it makes more sense. The Underdark is atually 300 areas (a small server on its own really, lol) so players can hang there for the msot part.

Being good aligned is fine but making it and doing the usual quest is a drow city and stayng god aligned is a lot harder...even that idiot Drizzit had some stains on his soul when he was a real drow and not some damn sun elf clone with dark skin.

A player MUST make it through the Underdark and out into the world to be on the surface...and has on them a token that while they can go to a bordertown we have set up they cannot go to any of the other places or thy will be detained if not outright killed. Plus the Light Senstive we added sucks for them to be on the surface at all.

As for Ellistree...I think we are thinking of during the Drow/Loth War that she might become a casualty of it....Posted Image

ArgentumRegio supports Drow, has a special backstory for them too. We feature tools to create custom races on demand too.

Be well. Game on.

I hate drow.:P

Well, actually I don't. I just dislike dealing with the added drama and policing of non-standard races and classes, especially in an FR Campaign. Drow, Tieflings, WerePCs, Vampires all end up being too much policing and work for me to bother with. While some can handle such obscure PCs well, I've found that majority cannot or refuse to and abuses and drama ensue.

I've always harbored a hope to add them to my own module, but constantly hold off as I still enjoy building and playing and don't want to ruin it for myself. :)

You wont ruin it for yourself...the drama queens you mentioned will ruin it for you...

(And yes it is a very thin line and one we have dealt with on numerous occasions as has anyone that has anything outside standrad races.)

Much as it pains me to disagree with you here, I think Drizzt acts a lot more like a moon elf than a sun elf. Sun elves are extremely snobbish and spiteful, and Drizzt is portrayed as being open and kind and ultimately extremely curious, which are aspects of moon elves.(I used to love the Salvatore stuff when I was in middle school nearly 20 years ago, don't hate me:P)

Kudos to the 'casualty of war' for Ellistrae...it seems like every new edition of the FR campaign setting is determined to make 'good' and 'evil' more grey and less defined. I prefer my high fantasy with clearly defined moralism thank you.Real life is murky enough.

I am so ignorant on Elves that I bow to you on that one. I know Hin Lore and Stouts as well as humans and orcs but gnomes, elves and the classes psionics and monks I stay away from with a passion.
Good drow though are a pet peeve.

My favorite pc at the moment happens to be hin. I think drow can be done well with the right care and attitude. I just don't dislike evil or good drow. I've seen both played well and played poorly. To me the problem (when there is one) isn't the race, it's the way it's played.

Stouts, Hin, human, Orcs, and Stouts...those are my favorites...and yes I know I said Stouts twice.

The Ghostwise Hin are awesome little fellows and it always annoys me when people play Hin from the Realms like Kender...they are not Kender. For the most part Hin have proud tradtions. Maybe Lightfoot could be a little flippant but wanderlust does not mean Kenderish behaviour.

(I love Tasselhof though...I always wished I had gotten involved with a Dragonlance world just to play a minotaur.)

Probally the best thing I like about your guys(WSI) server concept is the fact you can pull from so many different worlds.

On Mistledale you can play Drow, albeit only the evil ones, but this is due to the campaign setting's ongoing guerilla war with the Mistrans. Within that setting, we thankfully have no Lolth worshippers (players that is), since the Jaelre Drow follow Vhaeraun without exception. That being said, I personally never play Drow. It's just not my thing :) I love Stouts in particular.

I play a tallfellow because it fits the background I wanted. Drow interest me because of the social structure and political aspects of the race. I'm not into the sacrificing people and torture stuff in roleplay. And the drow we have are mostly non-lolthites too.
