It's summer, and much of our team has summer obligations (including myself...as I work at a summer camp.)
We'll be back to work here soon enough (once the fall semester starts up again.)

I played it and... loved it so far.
Having the possibility to play a game based on the Mass Effect universe without automatically being a human is like a dream coming true. Also, I played a couple of games made with RPMaker (and also worked a bit with it myself) and other fan projects already and must say I was really surprised how well the dialogues were written and how creative everything was constructed. I had some hopes when I read about the projects, but what I played exceeded my expectations. 

Really looking forward to see more.

I am liking it so far I do not get a chance to play it since I play Mass Effect 1 & 2 alot and the fact that my Brother and sister keep the computer until midnight everyday but what I am getting from laying as far as I have is that this game was very well thought out and and that ME:C could be a very popular game. I only hope that it could make its way to the Xbox 360 so I can get more hands on with the game to play it.

what you were able to play so far is only a small demo; we're just testing the waters and see if we're on the right track before digging our teeth into the main game.
as such the next bigger update will include more combat related features.

sorry, but he's not the playable character for the main game either

the main turian's armor keeps reminding me of Gordon Freeman, not as extreme as this though :lol:
still fiddling with some details regarding the general turian pose for the concept art :unsure:

Greetings everyone


As was hinted at before, here is some more information about the ideas and intentions for this project.


>>>> General <<<<

First things first, some clarifications: the game will eventually encompass the intro, the turian, the salarian and the asari project – a small nod to the original term for the fan game: 'the turian project'.
The intro is optional, however, through it you can set certain things in motion and it also allows for some minor alterations so you can shape this particular playthrough according to how you influenced things in Mass Effect: for example whether the Council was saved or sacrificed, what happened to the rachni queen or who became the human councilor.
The three projects form the main game. In theory you can also only play as one of the main characters, but to unfold the whole story, you'll have to play through all three projects. The order in which you do this is up to you eventually.
We decided to deviate a bit from out original plan and instead of releasing the game after all three projects are finished, we'll be releasing them one after the other. This way you can already play a major part of the game while we continue work on the remaining parts. Starting things off will be the turian project, followed by the salarian project and the asari project. Some of the features, especially the interchangablility of squadmembers and assignments, will not unlock until the third project is out.



>> Missions & Assignments <<

Each main character has a different set of main missions. On the other hand there are assignments that are available without restrictions and you can complete them with either of the three protagonists. Just keep in mind, once acquired they're no longer available during the other projects during this playthrough.


>> Morality <<

The characters you will play in the main game are 'neutral' to begin with and it is up to you to take them to either extreme or combine paragon and renegade options to shape who they are. We do have some basic traits in mind, however, and these will influence what paragon/renegade means to the characters.


>> Squadmembers & Crew <<

There are quite a few different squadmembers available; by default two of them will join you fairly early on so you have back-up for battle. You'll have the option of picking up another four of the potential recruitable squadmembers. It's your choice whom you recruit with which of the main characters. You can also recruit people for certain positions on your ship such as pilots or engineers. Each will provide you with a bonus.
Please note, if you pick them up with the turian for example, they will not be available for the salarian or asari project of the same playthrough.


>> Love Interests <<

You will be able to pursue various romances. There are instances when you may actively flirt with a potential love interest and there are people who may flirt with your character and you can return the affection if you wish. Naturally, the asari will be flirted with the most, though not everyone will have a lasting relationship in mind when doing so.


>> classes <<

Technically all the classes that are available for Shepard will be available in MEC as well, but not for all three species. While we limited each main character to one major area of expertise, the following options still allow you to further specialize them as you please and give more weight to combat, tech or biotics.

Soldier - combat/combat
Infiltrator - combat/tech
Vanguard - combat/biotics

salarian
Infiltrator - tech/combat
Engineer - tech/tech
Sentinel - tech/biotics

asari
Vanguard - biotic/combat
Sentinel - biotic/tech
Adept – biotic/biotic

We may change some of the terms, 'Infiltrator' simply doesn't really fit what the combat/tech class is in MEC.


>> Equipment <<

Depending on the class you choose, the character will be restricted to a specific weapon type, though you can equip different weapons of said type. Each weapon type has several parts that you can improve once you possess the necessary upgrades.
Similarly, the main characters and squadmembers are restricted to one armor, but there will be several upgrades.

In ME1, Garrus was referred to as an 'Agent' (Likely due to C-Sec), maybe something like that could work?

well, for now they're like 'chapters' coming one after the other, but I'm looking forward to having all three projects available, so players are able to really enjoy the freedom of interchanging things, some cool things planned for recruiting squadmembers with another main character

we were looking at those titles and also came up with a few of our own, let's see what sticks till the end :D
the best one is probably Legion - Geth Infiltrator ... so much for 'geth do not infiltrate'

and we're trying to improve further and hire more people to work on pixel graphics

Morwin was/is cool, so out of curiosity, is he going to be a regular squadiee, or is he kicked out for good once you kick him out at the end of the alpha.

thanks, and I need to remind myself to call it a demo to avoid confusion regarding how far we're with the project :blush:

and no worries about Morwin not being a squad member, he'll join you for the turian project

blast from the past: during the very, veeery early drafts and for the pre-alpha Morwin and Vazill were the squaddies (and at that point there were no salarian or asari projects planned)

when the idea formed to put something together that would take place prior to the main game to allow people to get into the story and see some of the features and so we could get feedback, it was decided to go with Vazill as the playable character and add Morwin as a recruitable squaddie

Great job so far, I'm interested to see how much you can improve on this game, when it's already shaping to be pretty interesting.
I was a little disappointed when the credits rolled through, but I'm sure I'll get over it while I wait for you to finish up the next part.
Anyways, keep it up!

I never expected it to take that long either, nor did Norton I'm sure
the worst part is, that making the game itself probably wouldn't even take that long, but finding the time to make it has proven to become more difficult than we could imagine at times, which is draining creativity :(

when we have any major updates we'll post them here and keep people updated, don't worry :)
