personally, I'm a bit miffed that we didn't get to see any turian architecture - let along turian females; I had high hopes that ME3 would show us these things and provide us with reference material.

For the first turian female to be seen in the series, there are surprisingly few pics of Abrudas on the net. These are the only ones I've found, and two of them are tiny avatar-sized images. At least one is from a different angle.

Honestly, I wish that there wasn't only one Prothean left... I love that species and the ideas that come with it...and we obviously won't be using Javik.

Yup, Uni finals. Also a couple of writing projects.

On a side-note, I'm working through my first tri-game playthrough. I'm on ME2 at the moment, playing the game as I would respond, mostly paragon but some renegade in there too.

I dropped by the website today and found that it was down, pending renewal. Is anything going to be done about that, or is this thread now my one-stop shop for all things MEC?

and on that note:
there haven't been many updates or much activity on the forum; if we'd switch to updating on BSN, facebook and perhaps tumblr (since it allows for 'anonymous asks' so people wouldn't need to have a tumblr themselves to get in touch) more regularly - like posting there what we posted to the 'What we are working on' thread, do you think a forum of our own is still necessary?

Well, a forum of your own isn't a necessity really, but it would be nice. I enjoyed the community there, and was sad to see it dying out. I don't use facebook (I really, truly despise it) nor tumblr, so without the MEC website my ability to view updates would be severely lessened. That, however, is just my situation, and I have no idea whether others would have the same problems or not.

I am curious as to what would be done about the Mass Effect Diaries RP, though, if everything moves to another site. I tried posting there often to try and get others to follow suit, and I really enjoyed that and the other, less active forum games. Would those transfer well to a tumblr or facebook format?

In any case, I think that if the site is brought back, efforts to increase activity will have to be made. More people need to be getting the word out about this project, I think. To that end, my offer of working as an official liaison to the Mass Effect Wiki still stands.

one other thing could be the group feature on BSN, I think there even is a really old one about MEC, maybe dust that one off and run with it. That could also bring back the Diaries, which otherwise couldn't be continued with facebook or tumblr.

I can't stress it enough, but with the demo we had the odd situation that we needed to show it so early to get feedback and see if what we're doing is what people would be interested in and if they have suggestions for improvements versus the demo being too early.

My personal opinion about it is still to keep things quiet for a while until we have something really, REALLY big to show and then go full force with getting the word out. Until then I'd prefer to keep things to regular, small updates for those who want to follow the process, but not make a big deal about it. Just make sure the people who already know about MEC and are interested can see that we still work on it - no matter the size of the team or how slow the progress seems to be - and it hasn't died and rots in a corner without anyone noticing ...

can you tell that I shouldn't do promotion? XD

did you have to mention the EC?
I don't even know the feeling I'm having towards it, some odd mix of excitement and fear ... it could be a real way to fix the ending, on the other hand it could make things even worse AND cost me the remnants of faith I have in BioWare ... which is really a shame, because Me3 ending aside, I don't have any major complaints (yes, I liked DA2 )

I can see where you are coming from in regards to keeping things quiet. As for the EC, I agree with you 100%. It could either go very well or very badly. That doesn't stop me from being excited though.
