*Slowly downloading*
Just wondering, are you planning to upload it on other file hosting websites besides MediaFire? For some reasons I had troubles starting the download process (using Firefox 4).

Epantiras, YES! Honestly, I just don't know what the best filesharing websites are. I'd love any suggestions though.

Just downloaded. Been playing for a short while and woohoo! It looks great and sounds great and it’s just unbelievably cute! The atmosphere is spot on, the graphics is surprisingly neat and the dialogs are witty and fun to go through. I have to repeat what some people have already mentioned: the text could use some proofreading. But other than that, I had no problems at all, and I’m loving it! Will post again when I finish.

Downloaded! I've played the "prologue" and wow it's amazing! You recreated the ME1 atmosphere very well. I don't have much to add to what others have written, I should just copy Lady Olivia's comment and paste it here because I think the same. I don't know if the current hand-drawn cutscenes are placeholders or not, but I hope you keep them in the final version! Even if they're in a different artistic style than the rest of the game, they're so vivid!

I'm dumbstruck at how remarkably fun that was and how much it feels like Mass Effect. Really outstanding work.

I'd love to see this become a full blown game that lasts 10+ hrs long some day hehe.

Please keep up the great work guys.

Actually, I only helped in specific parts of development, I just work in the team for the marketing. It did take us several months to make, but that's because we changed the core mechanics several times.

Well, consider that this is the smallest of the 4 projects, and it's not even done yet.

*cough* Saying 'we' and referring to 'teams' all the time makes us look more than we are. :D

though I do remember someone remarking on the line-up Norton had posted on an RPGMaker site some time ago that our team would be rather large...

This is really REALLY awesome. Great job making this game, I'm really enjoying it! The character sprites are SO adorable, and the music is great, really props to everyone involved in making this!

Can't wait to play as the other races too :)

*edit: Also that creepy salarian made me think of dead space..

In short:
It was amazing! Great work guys.

Longer version:
It is nice to see ME universe being expanded by the fans in such awesome way. I have not played a RPG Maker based game in quite a few years but I remember very well what they were like. Some were okay, alot of them were awful and those projects that had a little hope for being awesome were either rushed out or given up on because the Dev team did not have enough time. MEC alpha/demo has greatly impressed me and I hope that the project will continue until MEC is ready to be released. It has much more potential than any other RPG Maker game that I have followed or played.

A quick summary of the good points:

- Little cutscenes composed of either static or moving images are really good and add to immersion.

- Dynamic Combat; gosh it actually felt dynamic and engaging as opposed to standard RPGM experience.

- Great sprites and tilesets = good graphics, and I can see a lot of work has been put into making them. Also everything screams Mass Effect. I would be instantly able to tell if I saw an image of the game that it is based on ME. Loved the little things like the doors opening like in ME2 with the green panel and red when they are locked or the C-Sec scan. It may be little things but they greatly improve immersion.

- Dialogue system; Paragon&Renegade, awesome to implement the system from the main games which will add some diversity.

- Music was really well done and fits in very well.

- Immersion, little things and nods to other ME games were awesome. They may be little additions and flavours but they are crucial in making the ME experience. Some examples(spoiler): C-Sec scan, extranet, big stupid jellyfish , Al-Jilani and ''I've hand enough of your unjustifiable assumptions'' cue epic punch cutscene and as soon as I saw a dance floor I was like yeah baby I bet I can do some awesome dance moves and I was not disappointed. Ohh yeah and poking trough the creates was nice as well. Also random NPC static and moving around make the world feel much more alive. All tilesets and sprites fit into the world and they don't stand out looking awkward like they belong in a different universe. The email screen also had the same colour as the email screen in ME2 that was nice little thing. Everything just clicks into its place making a very nice overall picture and you just know that this is Mass Effect. You can tell it has been made by fans of ME universe that have put a lot of heart in it.

- Flying in your spaceship. I should put it in the immersion but I think it deserves it's own point because I enjoyed it more than I did in ME2 :P There is something about it that makes it feel more natural but I don't know what also the Galaxy Map music was really good.

- The story shows promise and we have experienced a solid start that has revealed just enough to keep us in suspense but well see how it evolves latter so I can't comment much on that but overall the writing seems solid.

Only thing ''bad'' in my opinion was that health and energy did not regenerate after combat or over time but it is only my personal preference and always bugged me when playing these games.

Absolutely loved the experience and I eagerly await for the final release. If the quality of the alpha version persist through the rest of the game it will be an amazing addition to ME Universe. Keep up the good work guys and please finish the project and don't rush it out. That is all =]

I do believe I was not the only one that went "FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" when the credits rolled (or if you were in before the fixed, they flew away! :P).

I have to say that I am a bit underwhelmed about the popularity of the thread, but your positive comments and feedback totally make up for it!

Yeah the traffic in this thread is not the greatest but the word will spread around eventually :wizard: . I don't have a doubt that most ME fans would enjoy it. Especially those that were into games like Final Fantasy et al.
