And now i reached lvl 14 which means i can get another specialization but :

Shapeshifter : sucks
Arcane warrior : is not what i want, i want to be a normal mage
blood mage : is evil in my opinion and this is a good character

I find my self at a loss here, any sugestions?

Blood Mage. Not necessarily evil, if you have a bit of imagination you should be more than capable of thinking of a realistic story why you would pick it up (And just unlock it, then reload so that you didn't just make a deal with the demon, if you still have to unlock it). Beyond that it is simply a great specialization especially with Spirit Healing.

My Mage is exactly that. A good mage with Spirit Healing, Creation spells and Blood Magic. The other two are useless for this particular role. Blood Wound is one of the best skills out there let alone you can continue healing even when out of mana.

I'm having the same issue. I'm either going to take the one with the best bonuses and just not put any points in its talents, or not take one at all.

Personally I'd take Arcane Warrior, and then only take the first talent. With that you can equip Drake Scale armor for good armor and negative Fatigue. Other than that I just wouldn't bother.

Just that the incredible increase of mana cost makes long range healing pretty bad for longer fights.

Take shapeshifter, and hope the Dragon themed line of shifter abilities comes along soon! :)

Ummm...I don't know what you mean by this. The Drakeskin armor only adds 3% or so of fatigue.

You don't have to have Combat Magic turned on (the Magic as Strength part is passive) to be able to use the armor so that 50% fatigue penalty doesn't matter unless you're wanting to melee.

Ah. In that case I said nothing. But what is the point, besides surviving a bit longer (You shouldn't get attacked in the first place :P) does it have useful Mage equipment?

Negative fatigue makes spells cost less; it's nice.

Not really. Spellweaver is about it I think but there are better staffs. The only point I see would be for looks if you don't dig robes or it could be nice to be able to shift into melee as an emergency button.

Well, if you wear the Wade's Superior Medium Dragon armor, you'd end up with -10% (10% cheaper spells) fatigue, and 2 mana in combat regen from the armor set. Its not a horrible option, although its definitely more of a melee choice.

To be perfectly clear, I was advocating taking Arcane warrior and then just the first talent, but not using the talent itself, just the passive ability that allows you to use spell power instead of strength to equip armor. You'd then use either the normal or superior drake skin armor instead of a robe. In my game the normal armor give you a -6.5 fatigue and the superior give you -8. That means it cost LESS to cast spells and you get the added survivability from the armor.

Spirit Healer/Arcane Warrior is my favorite mage for just that reason. Being able to substitute armor for the robes. I use Wade's armor as well, especially when I go back to kill the high dragon in Haven. I take the first one of Arcane Warrior and the first two of Spirit Healer and put the rest of my points into other spells. Shapeshifter; takes too long to change into the cirtter. Blood Mage, goes against the ethos.

That's pretty much the plight of the Mage class in Dragon Age.
