I'd like to advance a journal (journal "sh_pasi" to 11) when the player sets a specific trap (the tag of the trap is "sh_trap_pasi") on an object.
A scripting request

Is there a set trap event??? I haven't heard of one, but it isn't something I've looked for.
If not maybe you could use a heartbeat in the area where the trap should be set (assuming it is a specific area since I'm guessing this is a plot thing), and once the trap is set it updates the journal.

Yes, a plot thing. It's in a specific area, and with the specific trap. but it should be set on the specified object. If it has to be by heartbeat, I can give the object a tag if required.

Is setting the trap an "activate" action? If so, you could use tag-based scripting on the trap and check what it's been activated on.

AddJournalQuestEntry("sh_pasi", 11, oPC, FALSE, TRUE);
That is what the line would look like once you get the fire sequence for your trap.

It would be better to use the placeable's heartbeat slot over the area's heartbeat. Area heartbeat scripts fire no matter if a PC is currently in the area or not. Placeable heartbeats only fire when there is a PC active in the area. Same results. less resources.
