Just bought the game on steam and it will not launch it just quits to desktop after i hit the play button. This is a new computer just

Did you reboot after installing? If not, do so.

Okay... easiest place to start is to verify your files through the Steam desktop client.

Works, had to reinstall physx

i had bought the installers, but why doesn't the game launch when i remove the cd?

If you buy Dragon Age: Origins on disc, it requires the disc in the drive to play.
