I was browing through the bioware store when I noticed  this:www.biowarestore.com/mass-effect/mass-effect-accessories/ssv-normandy-ship-replica.  So aperantly, the SR2 (and presumably sheppard) will be working for the alliance again in ME3.  Hurray!!!!:lol::lol::lol:
This makes me very happy, becuase I never liked cerberus, and tried to quit (and damage) the organization at every possible oportunity in ME2.  Go Alliance!!!!!:police:

Eh, I hate Cerberus, and I'm mad as hell that my baby is going to be poked, prodded, and god knows what else by the Alliance. Hate me all you want, humanity, but leave my ship out of it.

Hopefully Joker cusses someone out. Or EDI gets a chance to blow someone out of an airlock. >:

I still don't know how EDI is supposed to get back into the ship if the Alliance took everything apart.

I don't like AI anyway. If that thing is gone, Good riddance.

But Joker will be crushed.

And qualms about AI aside, the Normandy flies best when you've got Joker and EDI running the show.

It wouldn't be so easy for those who couldn't stand Kelly and turned her and several others into Reaper milkshake to move around without EDI.

And I think she's integrated into the ship, so good luck removing her gently.

It's never said that they completely dismantled the entire ship down to the last bolt.  The GI article just said it's "in the process of being taken apart, studied, and rebuilt." In any case, they could have easily removed EDI's hardware intact, such that she can be re-installed relatively easily (as long as they leave her blue box alone after disconnecting it, she'd be fine), or just left her in place for the moment and re-shackled her or whatever.

Actually, I thought of something worse.

What if Joker was an Alliance spy all along?

Easy: cut some power and/or data cables.  Not much she can do about that.  Once that's done, head to the AI room and remove her core components.

One, I saved the entire crew.
Two, the Normandy was fine before EDI, and will be just fine without
Three, I feel like EDI is programmed to follow sheppards orders, thus would leave peacefully if requested by him.

You'd be amazed over how fast and stubborn AIs in fiction can be when needed.

How would removing EDI be a problem? She was designed to work with the ship and integrated into it. For a long time the ship ran just fine with EDI doing minimal work. She was integrated into the ship, it was not integrated into her.

That said, I'm sure for some reason she'll still be around. Maybe the Alliance just won't have had time to uninstall her.

Oh I see you must be someone who dislikes  it when someone basically has no problem in calling a developer out on things .   Cerberus being the bad guys is fine but from a story point of view based on the story in 2 . Them being evil in 3 is stupid and especially the lame ass indocunation crap.  Oh as far as killing Ashley goes If she gets in my way in 3 well then she will pay a price . If Miranda and the rest of the ME 2 squad are not in 3 and can't be squad mates . well then It will be real clear that Mass Effect 3 is nothing more than a remake of Mass Effect 1 . Shepard being forced back into the alliance like a slave is stupid as well .  Mass Effect 2 is pointless from a story idea if the info on Cerberus is correct for ME 3 .

How do you think I felt when I was forced to work with Cerberus? It's reversed roles now, and I'm glad for it. It's the Alliance's time to shine now.

Except EDI runs the cyberwarfare suite and such meaning she helps keep's other ships crews from hacking the Normandy and causing damage to the ships systems. Add in the anti-reaper software she has she's gonna be needed more then likely for battling the reapers in ME 3.

Are you serious?  If you payed any attention in ME1, it is obvious that the alliance are the real good guys and that Cerberus are just humanist extremist terrorists.
But, I actually do agree with you that you should be able to choose your allegiance.  Just as much as you want to work fir Cerberus  in ME3, I wanted to work for the Alliance :police: in ME2.
Maybe we can work to gether for a greater goal of more choices in the Mass effect universe. :)

And since she's unshackled, EDI is the Normandy.

I don't see the point in removing her. She's extremely useful. She can basically take over the ship functions in case of an emergency- something the first Normandy could most definitely not- and she 'cares' about the ship and her fellow crew. EDI will protect the Normandy and everyone part of the ship.

Safety and a rather justified fear of AI by the most of the galaxy that doesn't have your prior history with EDI?

Fifty bucks says the Alliance replaces his leather seats with uncomfy utilitarian ones for no good reason. =P

^This^
How many good AI's have we encountered so far?

Reapers: helbent on destruction of universe
Geth: Took over homeworld of Alien Species
AI on Presidium: Tried to kill anyone who approached.....and gambling fraud
EDI: (Made by Terrorist Organization).......Final allegiences still unkown.

I was one of those gues who was like, "Joker, shut that thing down!" when told there was an AI onboard.  I do not like AI.
