okay everyone I know how irritating it is to try to play a game and not be able to play it with the content you have, I have only 1 minor problem, but I aint really to worried about it, Mine is with the Festival packs not installing boo hoo, IDK I finally figured out how to get all the DLC AUTHURIZED for the Deluxe and the regular Dragon Age Origins BEFORE THE ULTAMITE EDITIONS came out the steam version fix, Might IF you have it Installed on a Different Drive that is.

I have my Steam installed on a E: drive and my System on a C: drive.

This is what you have to DO!

Step one:

go here (INSTALL PATH)E:\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\redist, May be different for you.
If anywhere but your OS Path.

Step Two:

Run the DAO_UpdateAddinsXml_Steam.exe, when it finishis hit Close.

Step Three:

Click on start Search field and type  SERVICES and when you see the services show up click it.

Step Four:

Look for the service called DAUpdaterSvc, and right click and say properties. towards the middle of the screen you should see a readout saying

Path excuteable
C:\\programfiles\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe
Hmm why C: blah blah blah mine is in E: Right?

Step Five:

Copy "DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe" and click on start and click run then type in "Regedit" and while in regedit hit CTRL+F to open serch menu and past "DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe" now do not touch ANY FILES IT FINDS FIRST, when it loads up hit the F3 key wait for load F3 wait for load and keep repeating until you find an achive that says "ImagePath" when you see that It will tell you again "C:\\programfiles\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"

Step Six:

What you are yoing to do is Right click on the ImagePath and Modify... From there you are going to change "C:\\programfiles\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe" to "(Install Path)"E:\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age origins\\bin_ship\\DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe"

Step Seven:

Easiest step ever, REBOOT!, once rebooted repeat steaps 1-4 and when you look at it in services again is should Be stared, If it isn't Right Click on the service called "DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe" and click properties and where start up type is, put it to automatic, and from there on out it should WORK. If it doesn't you missed a step, or you do not have the right origin of the game, this Fix DOES NOT help ULTIMATE EDITION gamers...
